Colorful, fun, and useful
So amazing, fun, and colorful! I'm a piano teacher and have been looking for something fun to teach the students note reading. The games in here are extremely relevant to note reading as well as being fun and colorful. Leagues beyond many other books I previewed.

An Old Standby
I've been using Hal Leonard for decades and it's my go to for young beginners. Notespellers are important with this method book because kids get too reliant on a "position" eg. C position, G position, etc, and then Leonard teaches from intervals. The kids don't learn how to read the staff very well and this supplement is helpful. Consider a more sturdy shipping container because my product arrived a little wrinkled.

Nice theory book for youngsters
Nicely illustrated. Not the easiest instructions in some of the lessons -- not a book a child could complete without help.

Kids seem to enjoy them.
When I have a student who seems to have trouble grasping the concept of lines and spaces, I use this book. It's easy, and they enjoy the story line of Spike and Party Cat and their adventures. Sometimes they even ask for the next level in the series.

Notespeller a Great Companion to Piano Instruction
My son's piano teacher asked me to buy the Notespeller series to accompany his lessons. It is an opportunity for him to reinforce his lessons without actually sitting at the piano. The books focus on learning to read music - it's less intrument-specific and instead strengthens his ability to master the music itself. The activities on each page could be called "games" I guess, but they are more like kindergarten-level worksheets where you fill in the blank, circle the correct answer, etc. My 6-year-old son described the work as "interesting" and I would classify it as engaging. This book 1 is a great introduction, and in my opinion, and outstanding companion to the beginning piano player's instruction. Can't go wrong!
