Twig tea
Kukicha tea can be taken hot or cold and is recommended for breakfast, as it brings a lot of energy and vitality in a healthy and natural way. It can also be taken as a digestive after meals. The main advantage tea kukicha has is that, having virtually no caffeine, it can be taken any time of day, even after dinner, without running the risk of losing sleep. This tea has a unique flavour and aroma among teas due to being composed of parts of the tea plant that are excluded from most other teas. Kuki in Japanese means stem or a stick.I found this tea very mellow and refreshing, it wasn’t as astringent as other green teas I have tried.I found it had a light and subtle taste. It says on packaging to use 3g, I used a teaspoon the first time and found it quite delicate. The second time I tried a heaped teaspoon and the flavour was a little stronger, the ‘marine notes’ could almost be detected by not in an unpleasant way in my opinion.I preferred this green tea to others I have tried and priced at £8.99 I feel it is good value.

A strange twiggy tea but nice
All the Moya Organic Japanese Green Teas we tried are great quality. This one is no exception. The thick leaves are reassuringly good quality and this makes a pretty strong flavour, so you only need a small amount if you want a more mild flavour from your tea.Kuki is an odd one as it has a lot of small twig-like bits in, so it can seem quite dry and a little nutty. It also has high theanine and low caffine, so great for health and it also comes in a nice resealable bag to make it easy to keep on the shelf.

Good flavour
Shame the colour is more brown-ish than light green (which is usually the case for any green tea sold here in the UK), but tastes fine. Reasonably priced for organic green tea.

Low in caffeine but strong in taste
This tea is made out of 100% organic green tea. Country of origin is Japan which adds to the authenticity. On the packaging, they say this tea has a sweet and planty flavour with marine notes which I agree with, so it results in a tea that tastes slightly different from other green teas. The taste is strong and sweet, it is perfect for enjoying at any time because it is low on caffeine. The tea is made out of stems and twigs in addition to tea leaves. Overall I like this tea and will be drinking it regularly, however, I feel that is slightly pricey at £8.99 per 100 g.

Delicious
A truly delicious tea - one to savour and enjoy and far far better than anything I have purchased locally in a traditional high street shop.I used water that had cooled slightly after boiling (so just off), and set it steep gently for 2 minutes or so. I added a touch of honey for sweetness too. Then its a question of sitting quietly, sipping and relaxing.Quality stuff - highly recommended.

Average
An average Loose green tea that comes well presented and reasonably well packagedThe flavour is out there on its own, a little nutty with a hint of sweetness and not that strong, however, it’s drinkableThe price seems a little high, it doesn’t suit a hot drink and would better iced or chilledNot for me...

Nope
So the description says "Its composition consists entirely of twigs and stems of leaves, which can not be found in other teas." The last part sounds like a spin on "which other tea makers have no use for and just throw away", yet it's as expensive as regular leaf stuff. What is of note is that the back of the packet says that this can be brewed at 80-90°C; a regular green tea really needs to be brewed at an absolute max of ~80°C or preferably considerably less than that, or else it tends to go bitter. That means mucking around with a thermometer, but with this particular tea there is rather more leeway and you can get away with boiling the kettle to completion and leaving it to cool a little as it does stand up to the higher temperatures without going bitter.However...I first tried this with around a level teaspoon in the pot - I like to have even my green tea fairly weak and that is the sort of quantity I use. It tasted of almost nothing. The second time I made some I put in a couple of slightly heaped teaspoons. I now got some flavour out of it, but for me it's not particularly nice. It has too much of the ocean - seaweed and even fishy flavours. I don't like it.It's in the bin for this.

Buen precio, buen producto
