Does what it is intended to do
I am using this tool on a Pontiac 389 engine that I am replacing the timing gears/chain on. This tool works as intended, allowing me to rotate the engine with a socket wrench without the crank bolt installed. Note, it is important to have the spark plugs removed when rotating the engine with this tool, which eliminates any pushback from compression. The perfect tool at a great price!

Fits AMC v8 perfectly.
The title of the ad didn't say anything about amc v8's, but I bought it because of the size in the description. It fits my amc 304 perfectly so it will also work with the other amc v8's as well.

good tool when used correctly
very good productthe people who dislike this product are probably turning the camshaft with the spark plugs in the motor.I used the product and had no problems.Would buy againAlso make sure you order the correct one of these tools for the motor you are working on not all GM camshafts are the same size!

Whoops, doesn't fit.
This product was very nice and had it fit a big block Chevy I would have kept it. It was quite a bit too small and quite a bit too big for a small block which I happened to be building also. I would definitely be interested in one of these that will fit a big block. Maybe there was a mix up and this one was marked with the wrong part number, don't know it does happen. If one becomes available that does fit feel free to contact me.

Good for a DIYer, not so much for every day use
So, for Pontiac users, it fits, and it'll turn the engine over, but it's not a snug as it should be (this is on a Butler stroked crank, haven't tried a stock crank yet). For DIY'ers, this will do the job. If you have a high compression engine, you may want to think about popping the spark plugs lose, if not out, to make it easier. For Pro's, look elsewhere unless you are desperate. It's light weight aluminum, and at least with Pontiac's, doesn't fit snug enough to do heavy duty work. I don't know why you would, but I wouldn't put an impact on this. This is definitly meant for a manual turn.Would I buy again? For my use, maybe.
