BLACKHAWK Sportster Deluxe Range Hunting Bag

This is a great case and especially for the money. Plenty of room for my AR, 16 " barrel, with stock collapsed. Others complained about this but I did not have this problem. Plus I have an ACOG mounted, on a carrying handle, so my rifle fits both the case's length and height. Others complained that the zipper was hard to close. I agree with that complaint but a work around is to just not fully unzip the zipper. I unzip until I have a couple inches to go and quit. Voila, no problem zipping back up again.Others complained the mag pouches were too snug. I don't know what mags they are using . I use 30 rounders. Metal GI and Magpuls and I have been able to squeeze two mags into each pouch when I needed to. The pockets are not bellowed but plenty roomie enough for one mag which they were designed for. The accessory pocket is very large and the velcro closure very robust. I've fit my GI style cased cleaning kit in it, along with my boxed bore-sighter and a couple other smaller loose items. No sweat GI. A big plus and a feature I always want in such a case is it has a shoulder carrying strap. The case pads the rifle. In short an easy 5 star.Finally, there was a problem shipping this case. I ended up having to contact Amazon customer service and did so easily following their website cues and was on the phone with a rep in no time flat. My order was lost in shipping so they sent me another one which I had in 3 days. I order a lot thru Amazon. Never had a problem. So this was my first one and I give Amazon's customer service 5 stars too.

Just got mine in today. Was eagerly waiting for this since I have a range trip scheduled for tomorrow and my current hardshell case that I have works fine for long term storage, but it's HUGE and is a pain (And super heavy) to carry around. I figured for a quick range trip this should be fine.When I got it I looked at the length a bit dubiously, as it seemed kinda short. I grabbed my AR carbine with a 16.5" barrel and put it on top of it and sure enough, with my CTR stock extended it wouldn't fit. Slightly annoyed that I have to collapse my stock to make it fit, but fit it did once it was fully collapsed. A note to anyone getting this, longer barreled rifles probably won't fit.Width-wise without a magazine inserted it fit fine with a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot mounted on top, but fit super snug. I don't think it would fit with a mag inserted, but that's fine, I normally don't carry around the rifle with a mag inserted.Overall the quality seems to be typical Blackhawk, AKA a great value for the money. I don't foresee having to replace this at all anytime soon, and the quality of the stitching and zippers seem fine for quick range trips or just general transport. The front pouches fit both standard GI mags and 30 round Magpul mags just fine, and although I don't have any to test with I think it may fit the 40 round Magpul mags as well. If I buy some I'll test the fit and let you know.The leading edge front pocket is perfect to put in my .22LR bolt conversion kit in, and the middle open pouch is perfect for random transport stuff. Overall, a great deal for the money. Recommended. Just be aware of the length issue.

This gun bag is well made with plenty of storage for accessories.

I really like this bag. It feels quality, the padding is solid and my AR fits nicely. Standard 16" barrel, A2 flash hider, MFT Minimalist stock, 3-9 scope and mount, and fits with about 2 inches of extra room.As with what everybody is saying, i dont think the interior dimension is truly 36" in length, but probably is by the diagonal. Still, would be nice if the interior dimension was actually 36 long, but my gun fits (with a 3-9 scope mounted, no 30 rd magazine in) just fine, so not a huge bother.Only other gripe, which is my biggest complaint is the zipper system. At the front the zipper comes together and will stop, but the zipper tab may get stuck between the padding and front lip. Kind of annoying but nbd. The rear doesn't actually zip all the way closed. If I'm correct, a sling or handle actually comes from within the case not allowing it to zip fully closed. I haven't had an issue yet and don't think it'll be an issue, but I'm just worried if I'm carrying it around, the gun may move a bit in there causing the zipper to expand a little until the gun falls out. Probably exaggerating this, but I think it could be designed better to close or have 2 zipper tabs from either side to close the bag fully.The Midway bag closes fully and is slightly longer than this one... the quality is a little different, but just saying.Overall a good product.

Nice durable heavy nylon construction. Zippers are heavy duty and the carry handles and accessory pockets are well made. Inside of case has nice thick padding to protect your rifle. Good quality case for a AR or similar size rifle. I have an AR 15 that has the collapsible stock and 16 1/2 barrel and it fits perfectly. There is enough room to mount an optical or scope also.

Fits a AR with a 18.5" barrel no problem. I had to press the stock in to the smallest setting but it will fit easily. I have a halo sight on the top and still has lots of room for extra targets or cleaning supplies in the case. The external pockets are excellent. Might have an issue with AK mags due to the sharper curve. The shoulder strap on the back is ok. On a longer hike it will loosen a little but will not fall out completely. Could be better but is ok as is

Very nice bag, solide and with big zippers. Good padding.Lots of pockets for storage.Shoulder strap snaps are on the cheap side.
