Hoppe's No. 9 Gun Bore Cleaner

Always in my cleaning box. It just works great, easy to use, and is relatively affordable for this size bottle. Wear gloves, and have a fan on to blow fumes away.....it's strong smelling, so probably not the best on lungs. Get the OG, of gun cleaning fluid, it's hard to beat.

Great stuff. Buy this larger size and you’ll be encouraged to clean better. Great for those hard to reach places in AR-15 as well as lever action rifles (which don’t easily disassemble)

I've got to tell you, I've used Hoppe's No. 9 for well over 50 years, and in my book, there's nothing better or more reliable, for properly cleaning any firearm. It cuts the crud and residue completely, lubes the bristles of your bore brushes, and leaves the gun fingerprint free. Scrub with No. 9, then follow up with a lightly oiled patch to leave the bore with a mirror shine every time. If you're a shooter, stop buying those little bottles & get serious about your gun maintenance. Highly Recommended!

Has a good clean "gun" smell

I used this by cleaner by hand applying with brushes and swabs as my procedure for a few months. It was good, and I was satisfied. When I do a heavier cleaning, I generally ultrasound my pistol and small rifle parts, and use a 1/2 oz. of simple green to 24 oz of water. It generally does a decent job. I was doing my usual one day and for some reason decided to splash a little Hoppes #9 in the already operating tank with the Simple Green, and all of a sudden that bath came alive! Soon, the top of the water became foamy with dirty coagulated oil beads, lots of it. I left it run a minute or so and pulled the basket up, I was astonished. The metal was shining bright like I never saw with just the simple green solution. I’ve done it this way since, and it’s been phenomenal. Any minor residue left wipes away. I always rinse thoroughly, dry thoroughly and oil everything generously. My guns have never been so clean. I’ve seen no resultant issues whatsoever with composite or metal parts degradation. Try this if you can. It works!

Although it’s stinky, it’s very effective. Removes lead fouling on the cylinder of a revolver with an expensive old blued finish without removing the bluing.
