Hours of family fun!!
I’m actually on amazon looking for other game like this because I feel I’ve finally found one that’s a definite hit! I bought this for my daughter last Christmas, unaware that motion sensors are required for gameplay. So, it got tossed to the side for a full year as we played other games. If I would have known what fun we were missing, I would have purchased those WII motion sensors sooner! Fast forward to now and we are able to play for hours—the time flies! The interactive games are so addicting. My daughter loves the archery and the sword fighting/fencing game, especially when she plays her dad. :) I think beating Mom is just whatever to her, but beating DAD? That’s huge. ;) This leads me to the most beneficial aspect of the game, which is that it engages the whole family in games where we actually interact with one another, both while playing in our living room, and virtually within the game. In the days of cell phones and individual games, this is a major draw. There are also so many options to choose from—Dad’s favorite is golf, which can be set to 3, 9, or 18 holes, and you move virtually throughout a course that changes landscape as you go, picking the appropriate club for the shot and factoring in wind speed. I’ve also found that in addition to the multitude of sports you can choose to play, which keeps it interesting, there are also further options and variety within each sport. New courses and games with different objectives are unlocked as you go. Example—the sword fighting game started with a “duel” option, and then we unlocked another version where both players are presented with objects and arrows representing the angle of “slicing.” Time and accuracy are of the essence as both players compete to chop the objects correctly first, thereby earning them a point. First one to 10 points wins!I know there are games out there with better graphics that are more lifelike and popular with kids now, but this is perfect for us to play with our 9 year old for loads of laughs and entertainment. I am so glad I finally got the sensors so we could unwrap this gem that’s been sitting on the shelf. I love it so much, as mentioned before, I’m on the lookout for something similar, perhaps with more standing and moving around. Forewarning: motion sensors are needed, as are nunchucks if you want to play a few of the sports, like the jetski race one and the archery.

A SHOCKINGLY fun and entertaining game!
I gave Wii Sports Resort to my parents (in their 60's) as an Easter gift... Mom loves bowling and golf, but when she saw the episode of Big Bang Theory with Sheldon and Lenonard playing Wii archery she lit up, like a little kid who just HAD to have that game! Considering WSR had all three as well as nearly a dozen other fun to play games purchasing it was a no brainer. And the games really were fun to play too... generally simple in their controls WSR is great for blowing off a little steam or playing during family get-togethers as all the games are light hearted and quick playing. Interestingly, it turns out most of the games in WSR have multiple versions that "unlock" as you play, taking one simple game and turning it into three different games, a very surprising and highly enjoyable feature no one else mentioned! If you have a family member or friend who aggressively "conquers" video games though and takes pride in how quickly they "beat" every game they play, they'll likely find WSR too simplistic and not as engaging as their favorite titles. My favorite game was flying the airplane... it's very simple, very fun... yet realistic enough that it actually made me nauseous! Have to be more careful with that one! Archery is a blast as well. The golf game plays very nice as well. However, ping pong and Swordplay leave a little to be desired. Easily the two simplest games of the bunch, ping pond for example I can play without even looking at the screen, just listen for the "click, clack, click" then swing and repeat. But To be honest, when ping pong is the most boring game of the set, you KNOW you've got a winner!

My favorite Wii game
Out of all the games I own for the Wii, this is my favorite. I've seen this game being sold in 3 ways. Just the game CD (this one), The retail box version that comes with the documentation, and the game with Wii MotionPlus adapters bundled. If you're trying to decide which version to buy this is what I think. If all you need is the game get this one without the documentation and retail box. Trust me, you don't need the documentation or the box so why pay more for it? The only thing you need to know is that you need a Wii MotionPlus adapter for your controllers to play Wii Sports Resort. MotionPlus makes the controllers more sensitive and accurate and Sports Resort doesn't work well with out it. If you need both the game and the MotionPlus adapters, sometimes you can find a bundle that includes MotionPlus and Wii Sports Resort for less than buying them separately. Most likely, it's going to cost you less to buy the game without the documentation and the MotionPlus adapters separately. As for the game, my dad at 69 years old has always said video games are stupid and thought it was a waste of everyone's time to play them. That was until he saw Wii Sports Resort. He used to bowl on a couple of leagues so we got him to try the bowling (which is way better the Wii Sports Bowling by the way). I think he couldn't resist wanting to take a shot at the 100 pin bowling variation. That hooked him and he went out and bought a Wii the next day just so he could play Sports Resort. The whole family was stunned that my dad was buying a Wii, nobody could believe it. It was Wii Sports Resort that got him hooked though. I can't give the game a higher recommendation than that! This game is a lot of fun either solo or better yet with a group.

I scored 200!
This is just the game, no controllers or anything. The over 55 place where I live has Wii and controllers. I bought it for the bowling. I suck at bowling, can't break 100. In this game I scored 200! So easy! You can make your own little person to bowl.

Very fun game
Fun game, my son loves it. He asked for one after they played it at summer camp. When you order though, make sure you have the motionplus remote or order at the same time to avoid disappointment, or the game will not work. I don't recall seeing it anywhere as a requirement. I had only ordered the game and 8 piece accessories. When you insert the disk, it will loop around the video telling you to attach the motionplus attachment to your remote if you have the regular remote. Upon checking our spare remotes, found we had one WII original motionplus built-in, sync'd that to the controller and everything worked just fine. Still deciding whether to buy additional remotes or attachments to what we have. The reviews for the attachments are not very good.
