28800 Bow Step - 3-Step, Port

I love how the steps work and install but it's only been on my boat for three weeks and I'm seeing rust in quite a few places on it. It's only been used around fresh water on my bass boat so I'm really surprised to see this.

Product looked good but it wouldn’t work for my boat. Shipped out my return through UPS on the 6/30/23.Still haven’t received my refund.UPS website states there is a delay.

Great way to stay dry especially when boating and putting on trailer alone.

UPDATE July 2023: After 5 years on the hot Texas, humid, salty coast and salt water, the bottom of the ladder is corroding to where it needs to be replaced. I consider that satisfactory, given the severe climate. I am replacing it with the same model. One thing I will do differently is more frequently apply anti-corrosion spray and hit surface rust spots with antirust spray and paint. I will also remove the plastic caps at the bottom of the ladder posts because they seem to hold water that seems in during use. BTW, I washed it down with West Marine Salt Off after every use, but the climate here is just brutal for such things. I still give it 5 stars.Update: Upgraded to 5 stars. After a year, this product still works great and looks almost new. Wanted to share my experience so far using the Quality Mark brand of bow steps that attach to the trailer for launching and recovering my boat alone. Boat is a 2006 Key West 2020DC. Some ramps here in South Texas do not have walk areas and cleats to use lines to launch and recover, so you have to either swim for it, or find someone else to assist you. Or use a ladder.I use a ladder because of the large bow rail which my aged body can't scamper up. Winch pillar looks very dicey. My boat is a 2006 Key West 2020DC. Got the steps on Amazon. Four step model with starboard side attachment.Overall, very happy with it. Photos show how it attaches to the trailer. It rotates in the vertical axis for travel and has infinite adjustment to line up with the boat when ready to use. It also rotates in the horizontal axis with lock pins to set the steps and handrail at the right angle for stepping to and from the bow. Steps have nonskid and the handrail adds security when being used.The only modification I had to make was cutting about 2 inches off the end of the shepherd's hook at the top of the handrail so it would not conflict with the bow rail when the boat is winched tight to the trailer.There is a little movement in the horizontal hinge because it has to have some freedome to rotate, but the pins lock it very securely. Weight capacity is listed as 300 pounds, and I am well under that. Just remember to move slowly and deliberately.

I'll give this thing 5-STARS all day long since it keeps me from having to climb into the bow of the boat via the trailer crank and wench step-on approach (at the ramp)! The tip of the bow of our boat is almost 6' off the ground when standing next to it on the trailer.1) It was pretty easy to install except for the fact that our trailer beams are 6"x2" so I had to drill holes through the trailer for the two bottom holes. I wish they had options for a longer bracket so I wouldn't have had to do that, but it's real sturdy now!2) I did notice that it swung in towards the boat a little the first time I got on it while the boat was sitting in the water on the boat ramp (angled). I'm 5'11" & 215lbs so I am sure size/weight is a factor. You have to really crank down on the locking lever (with the ball on top) to keep it from moving. Some kind of locking pins would have been nice. I really don't see myself swinging it in/out all the time. I like it right where it is and I don't want it to move. I may drill my own locking pin hole if I can't keep it tight enough.3) I really like the way it swivels up when not in use - for travel purposes I guess AND to not look so enticing for someone to steal it. There are two holes on the top of the swivel pole though that you can add a padlock to for that very reason.Still 5-STARS for sure!

Easy to install, seems well made and sturdy enough.I’m a big guy at over 255lbs and I feel comfortable on it. Yes there is a little bit of play but not very bad and I still feel 100% confident on it. Definitely better than the parkour job I was having to do before installing it using just the top of the post on the trailer.Is it better than going to your local fabricator and having a custom job done? Absolutely not. But is it worth the money they are asking? I think it is.
