Very Solid Textbook
In terms of textbooks, I have to give this book high praise.I bought it for an HR class. There were no assigned readings, but I wanted the background because I do not work in HR.Human Resources can be a dry subject, but this book made it interesting. The concepts were well-developed from a solid foundation. The chapters were easy to read, and they were broken up into relevant subsections.I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised.

Human Resources Management
Needed this book for class and it didn't disappoint. I thought it was very easy to read, relevant to today and gave many examples of practical use, It was a great start to the specific courses that followed on my HR track, I went into each class knowing some information about the subject. Recommended.

Good, but surprisingly there are spelling/grammar errors!
The content of the text is good. I don't find it difficult to read and it serves the purpose for my course. Truth be told, the content could be communicated in far fewer words, and the editor should be coached for improved attention to detail as there are several spelling and/or usage errors in the book. Whatever, though; it works and with textbooks for courses it is not like there are options.

The Evolving HRM
Although I have many years of experience in the management world, this textbook opened my eyes to things I did not even think of in the past. This textbook also reveals how evolving and flexible HRM to be a key player in the business world.

Required for Class
This was a textbook that I needed for class. I have read other reviews on textbooks which usually puzzles me. They are textbooks for a reason, however, the adjectives used to describe their respective content are usually laced emotional commentary that doesn't tell me if the book served its purpose of delivering the material. Maybe my standards are low or maybe my expectations are not high enough. Are there books and authors that do it better than others, of course, however, if the text presented the information well enough so that I can get through the class, then it served its purpose. no? As far as textbooks go, Mathis does a decent job of covering a lot of material. It is designed to give an overview of many HR topics; you get the granular detail in the dedicated class for those topics themselves. I know there is a tremendous amount of work that goes into authoring a textbook so I try not to beat the author, editor and publisher up too much.

HRM Buch
Das Buch ist Basislektüre an Amerikanischen Unis. Der Preis ist echt der Hammer, dafür bietet das Buch auch sehr viel Info. Es ist kompakt geschrieben und hat viele "Übersichtsgrafiken" zum logischen Nachvollziehen. Ausschweifende Formulierungen, so wie es in der Deutschen Fachliteratur üblich ist, wird einem erspart.
