I am glad that some professors allow students to choose whether or ...
Required book for a college course that is now requiring a new book to be purchased with a one-time-use access code. It seems that publishers are finding new ways to avoid sustainability and circumvent the used book market by making colleges assign these new book bundles. I am glad that some professors allow students to choose whether or not they want to buy the bundle, which includes some extras including study guides, or opt out and buy/rent the used books and save money. At NVCC in Manassas, every class this semester "required" the access code bundles at $150-278 a book. Multiply that by 6 classes and you get a cost-prohibitive situation for most students. I was glad that find this book as an inexpensive rental, and I'll go the extra mile and scour the book for my answers and make my own study guide. If it costs me a half a grade or more, it may be worth it to be able to afford college.

Great Anthology
As a textbook, it's great. There are so many great texts within these books, and they're compact enough that hauling them back and forth to class isn't a huge burden. The only thing I don't like about the books themselves is that the paper is so unbelievably thin, it tears easily, and if you hold it in one spot too long, it begins to wrinkle from the oils on your skin. Regarding price, I don't think for the amount of literature in here that you could ask for a better amount, and part of the reason I bought through Amazon was that they were offering it twenty dollars cheaper than my campus bookstore. Speed of delivery...wasn't great, but I knew that before I even bought it; it said right on the page that there would be a few weeks wait before it even shipped. It arrived in great condition.

Fast delivery of good quality book
Book:Text is well written easy to understand. The introduction are great: they give a wide panoramic of the social, economical, historical context of the period that will be examined in every specific chapter. The text selection is excellent.Seller: I bought a used book. The seller offer me a very convenient price. The delivery was super fast : within 24 hrs! The Anthology comprise two volumes: in my cas volume one have some minor mark on some pages and a cover with some tape to repair some tear. No pages were missing, every single page was absolutely readable which is my absolute, only worry when I am buying used book. I will definitively buy again from them

The books themselves were great for my course
I got both books as advertised. They were slightly used, but still very usable and readable. The books themselves were great for my course. The author bios at the beginning of each selection of work are short but informative. The selections themselves include both well-known and lesser known works of the authors. It's a good compilation.

The font is not too small
I need this anthology for an upcoming lit class, but I was a little filled with trepidation to buy it when I read a review saying how very small the font type is and how hard it is to read. I wasn't sure my 40 year old eyes would be up to the task. But when I cracked the book open, it was just a normal book with acceptable sized typeface. I'm not sure why another reviewer was whining about how small the type is, but it's totally fine. I bought my copy used but fulfilled by Amazon and it's fine. It's a very heavy paperback and I wish I could have found it in ebook format. I'm glad I am a fully online student and I don't have to haul this thing around in my backpack, that's for sure.

Incomplete Rental Package
I needed these two books for my English class. So when I saw that I could rent both of them in a package for a good price I went ahead and rented it. However, as it turned out, only Volume A had came in and when I tried to contact the seller or Amazon (can't remember which, probably both), I was not given a response. I tried contacting them again, this time I did receive a response and I learned that this order is a one-book only order. Meaning if I were to have wanted to rent multiple textbooks at the same time, I would have to have done so individually for them. I did get the issue fixed however. I am thankful for the caring Amazon customer service.

All the classics
I liked the books. The problem with this type of anthology is that all of these stories are such classics that they are available online in some place or another for free. John Woolman, Jonathan Edwards, Oladuah Equiano, Walt Whitman, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Edgar Allan Poe, etc...Outside of the 1-2 page summaries per author that read like an encyclopedia article, the collection itself isn't worth anywhere near the purchase price. It's a racket.

but it gets better as the book goes along
This is a large anthology with a lot of material. The beginning chapters/stories are hard to get through because of the colonial language and material, but it gets better as the book goes along.

A Good Buy
Had to order this book for my daughters university course. Great book and it also comes with volume B which we didn't realise when ordering as we had ordered that separately.
