Exactly what I was looking for!
I don't think I could be more pleased with this product. I had plenty of the tiny baby spoons, but my daughter reached the point of eating things better eaten with a fork. So I set out looking for some toddler silverware. Forks were hard to come by, and to my amazement and confusion, pretty much all plastic. Well I could just see that frustrating a poor kid trying to stab food for the first time. Then I came across this set, and said "that's it!"The handles are nice and rubbery, making them easier for my daughter to hold on to. They are not too long, like most of the baby spoons, which are meant more for parents feeding the kids than the kids feeding themselves. My daughter would try to hold them more at the end of the handle, and that didn't work too well. These encourage her to grab them correctly. They are big enough that she can get food on them easily. She absolutely loves having a fork now, and the knife is a big hit, too. She asks for the knife if I don't give it to her! Of course, it's completely dull; she's not going to hurt herself or anything, but it's something for her to practice with and also to help occupy her during mealtime if she gets restless before my husband and I are through eating. Since these are actually metal utensils, they are very functional, and I know they will last well through my daughter outgrowing them and into a second child.I understand the frustration of some reviewers regarding the color selection. However, when I compared the price of this item with buying the exact same item with color specification, I could have cared less what they sent me. It's just a fork. I'm not going to spend twice the price just to get a certain color.

Buy these and never need a different kind.
My boy/girl twin toddlers only like the metal tipped utensils and these are the ones they prefer! I bought 2 sets of the fork/knife/spoon from amazon in random colors and got both in pink.. then bought green the forks only... I ended up getting both blue sets on Amazon as well, then found they are just a bit cheaper in store (I'm talking cents) and I ended up getting a green set.. They also come in forks only, which is great. The handles are perfect for their little hands, they are dish washer safe, and we all LOVE these. If your kids are anything like mine, they want to use the same utensils as the grown ups.. well I can honestly say sometimes I have to sit with them and use a set of their forks/knives/spoons just so they won't be inclined to use the adult utensils.. and these work just as well. I won't ever buy another brand other than these now that I've used them and know how great they are.

Our toddlers favorite utensils!
We have tried a variety of brands and these are the favorite for sure. Our 2 year old is very independent and insisted on feeding herself since she turned 18 months. The spoon has a good shape that seems to hold food on without being too curved so she cannot easily get the food from the spoon into her mouth. She has no issues eating cereal or yogurt using this. The forks are just the right size and a perfect amount of "poke" so she can get food on the fork and keep it on. (Some of the earlier stage forks have ends that are too rounded that make it difficult to secure the food). We have not used the knife much, but it is very dull and seems like a good first knife. I have bought this set and also the set of forks and spoons and selected random color and have received green every time. Of all the kids cutlery we have tried, we like these the best! Highly recommend.

Perfect for a Toddler
Our son will be 3 this month and we have purchased these at retailers in the past but with the free s&h it was cheaper to purchase it on Amazon. The colors may vary means just that. We have a red/blue set at home and received a pink set. My son will use them just fine until my daughter is old enough.PROS:- My toddler can feed himself easily since about 18 months.- The handles are large and "chunky" but not heavy or odd to hold.- The handles have a surface that makes it easy to grip, even if they are wet.- The fork isn't overly sharp and neither is the knife. Initially I was reluctant to give a 2 year old a knife, but with supervision he really loves cutting up his own vegetables and sandwiches.CONS:You can't pick the color your shipped so if you are hoping specifically for "girl" or "boy" colors step into the local retailer, otherwise - enjoy!
