Worth the money for sure.
Finally equipped with the right tools I’m ready to make some shavings. The tool comes perfect packaged, clean and pristine and ready to work. It adjusts very smoothly and easily allowing you to creep up accurately on your desired depth.

Good tool
After a bit of very minor rebutting I put a finer edge on the iron and took it to the bench. After some minor tuning I had it cutting paper thin ribbons of wood. My Lie Nielsen planes are nicer overall but the lower price on Wood River makes this an excellent deal. I am completely satisfied with the tool and don’t hesitate recommending it.

Very satisfied with WoodRiver # 7.
I wanted a Lie-Nielson but could not afford it. I read the reviews and watched many youtube videos to learn more about edge planing and long planes. i am very satisfied with the WoodRiver #7. 45 minutes out of the box I was successfully edge planing figured maple. As mentioned in another review, the Rob Cossman video on this subject was very helpful.

Quality for not a breaking the bank all that much.
A good friend of mind has a Veritas #7. Expensive? You bet it is. But.....#1 it's better then the Woodcraft Version and for the people who state they can't afford it. Hey guys its $65 more then the #7 Woodcraft. Your paying upwards of $400 (Woodcraft) you mean to tell me you can't eek out another $65 bucks? A better blade and how to adjust it. Rob Cosman who I like gets a promo $ for the recommendation like any professional. Me I'm going for the Veritas made in Canada and not the Woodcraft version made in China.. Veritas sells on Amazon haven't seen the #7 as yet but when I do Amazon will be the first to know..

Needs a lot of work
I was disappointed that the back of the blade was not even close to flat. This plane is not “out of the box ready”. I expect, at this price, to have to do some tuning, but you can see the dips in the iron, which means lots of lapping to get this to the point of being useful.

love at first use
Worth more than its price.. A very high quality tool, China outdid itself when it made this plane... While it may not be perfection, it's only a rung or two down the ladder.. I recommend this plane wholeheartedly... Not to mislead anyone, there are a few things to bring-up here, let's start with fit and finish. We all are concerned about blade flatness, yes, go ahead and flatten, BUT, it's the chip-breaker that needs flattening also, and the lever-cap, The chip-breaker needs to mate with the blade, you need to final-fit this connection, and the grind is too straight(knife-edge)(ya gotta break that shaving close to the mouth to limit tear-out) , you need to put a small bull-nose the chip-breaker for the shavings to roll against it.. The lever-cap is crudely matched to the chip-breaker, it needs to mate against the chip-breaker all across the surface for the even pressure on the blade... That's it, I am very satisfied with this plane...

Good Plane
This is a very good plane for serious joinery. I have Lie-Neilson and Veritas planes not quite in the same class but still worthy of a good look. Heavy, square and well made. I will admit am biased to Veritas due to blade selection but I just trued a lot of red oak for edge gluing for panel doors no complaints.
