Doesn't need a slip under it.• I fits comfortably around my waist.• Straps are long enough to wrap twice around my waist. Knot stays securely tied.Unexpected features:• About a foot too long. I got a medium, I'm 5'4" and I'll have to take about a foot up to bring it above my ankles (like the picture).Overall happy and looking forward to tailoring it to wear it.
