So easy to clean.
This oriole feeder is very well built. It provides nectar and jelly cups. And an orange can be attached to the hook. It came with bee guards to place on the nectar holes which was nice.I wish the jelly cups were a bit bigger. Also the instructions should do a better job of explaining the bee guards. I almost threw them out not knowing what they were. I kept looking in the pamphlet for an explanation and finally saw a reference to a bee guard. I believe it would be helpful if the bee guard was listed in the illustration of parts.

I love this and get some many types of birds.
This is a great way to get plenty of birds on your feeder with no mess by using jelly.

The ultimate Oriole Feeder
Actually, this replaces one I've had for at least ten years.... Everything eventually wears out and there is no better testimonial that buying one exactly like I had. Orioles love it, it's easy to refill, and it doubles as a great hummingbird feeder. The little diameter holes into the nectar tray are a little tough to clean, I found Q-Tips work about as good as anything. Otherwise, no issues at all ...You can serve grape jelly...and a half an orange, and nectar, all at the same time. I have about a dozen orioles that come to the feeder, really need two or three feeders, but the cost of jelly and oranges have held me back....You can enjoy a couple at a time as well as a whole bunch, but.....If I needed another one, I'd buy exactly the same one.

I love this feeder
I love this Oriel jelly feeder and my Oriels LOVE it! You do have to refill the jelly compartments frequently/daily but that is a plus in that the jelly is fresh and the compartments are very easy to clean and refill! I also use the hummingbird syrup (1 part sugar to 4 parts water, mixture is boiled and then cooled. It is changed every 2-3 days and the extra is refrigerated). Occasionally I will add an orange to the post but they don't seem too interested in the fresh fruit.PREVIOUSLY, I had bought a much larger oriel feeder that had deep narrow trays for the grape jelly. The jelly trays were too deep for the Orioles to get all of the jelly easily. The Oriels rejected it. The jelly went bad and attracted ants. It also was difficult to clean and even the hummingbirds showed no interest. The Birds Choice 1009 Oriole-Fest Oriole Feeder, 12-Ounce that I purchased, and am that I am both reviewing and recommending is perfect for our needs, We purchased a second one and we have so many colorful Oriels now!!

Seems like it will work perfectly!
When the squirrels started stealing orange halves I was leaving out for the orioles on a daily basis, I started noticing the orioles standing on the deck rail and drinking from my small hummingbird feeders (the little 4 ounce ones that tend to leak). When those were empty I even saw a pair of orioles trying to drink from my bigger hummingbird feeders (that are shaped similar to this feeder), but obviously their beaks were too big.I think the orioles gave up on finding a consistent food/nectar source here so they've moved on, but I'm excited to try it again next Spring. In the meantime, while I had it out hoping the orioles would come back, the hummingbirds loved it!

NEEDS TESTING - FUNKY BEE GUARDS A PAIN TO CLEAN, EASY TO LOSE - DOESN'T HOLD MUCH NECTAR
I opened my feeder and immediately saw the size of the feeding holes - they sure did not look bee proof to me - something that is REALLY important - we don't need to be drowning our precious bees and other insects in nectar. AFTER I filled and hung the feeder I went to toss the box and I almost threw away the bee guards because they are very small, clear and soft - there are 8 connected together = about the size of a silver dollar and they come separate - they look like they are made of silicone - you have to break them apart and attach one to each hole on the underside of the top piece - they have slits for the birds to stick their beaks through - how long before the bird beaks push the guards off the feding holes? Right off I was mad - they should attach the bee guards to the feeder so you don't accidentally throw them out. Those type guards are going to have to be removed every time you clean the feeder - a pain, plus they would be REAL easy to lose down the sink drain. They give you 8 so there is one backup set - I'm figuring they KNOW you are going to have a hard time keeping track of the guards so they supply extras. I wonder how long they last before they get stretched out? Didn't think to ask myself how I'd know when this feeder runs out of nectar. With a nectar tank on top you can see what level the nectar is at from inside the house but with these flat type feeders you have to walk out to the feeder in order to see if it's empty. I've read numerous times that Orioles won't return if you let the nectar run out. I'm bummed as the ad for this feeder made it sound really good - time will tell. I still feel the P P Hexagon shaped Oriole feeders are the very best made and the birds like them best too but they are tricky to clean as the excellent working ATTACHED bee guards are easy to break - but they hold WAY more than this feeder does, almost 3 times as much nectar. I just ordered 2 more PP type as I KNOW they are good. Feel I wasted what I spent on this feeder. What we do for our birdies.....

It does a good job at attracting the orioles
It does a good job at allowing the Orioles to perch and eat but the hummingbirds seem too scared to use it. I had the standard hummingbird feeder out before that got used a lot but it broke so I tried this, now the only birds that use it are red finches and orioles.. that's fine but not what I expected. The main complaint is that the tray is loose, it just sits on top of the lower tray. its easy to knock it loose. I often have to adjust it so its level. And the tray has small indentations for the jelly but they are very small, shallow, so you cant get much jelly in. Others with the dish have plenty of room. I can get maybe one or two tablespoons in this version while the dish version allows for 1/2 a cup..That being said, it was inexpensive and it does the job it was purchased for (mostly) so overall its a good item.

Nice feeder
I like this feeder a lot, and the option to add jelly and oranges. However the orioles that come to my feeders still prefer the hummingbird feeders. I have seen a hummingbird use this feeder though, and something ate the jelly I put out one day.

Attract Oriols and other birds
The Orioles and Grosbeaks love it but the Orioles don't really drink the sweet water even though is one of its purposes. I like the 4 spots to add the grape jelly. Birds are crazy about feeding on the grape jelly I put in the little spots. The only one I really saw drink sweet water from it are the humming birds when the bigger birds are away. On the other hand, for a reason or another, the Orioles go to my humming bird feeder instead.

Great Oriole Feeder
This year I was surprised to see a couple of Orioles spending time in our "bird spa". I bought this feeder to keep them around and away from our hummingbird feeders. It worked right away and now I have counted five Orioles hanging around our "bird spa". It is so successful in attracting these beautiful birds that I just purchased a second one.

First year we have had Baltimore Orieles
Simply put this works, we have never had Baltimores before this year. They have always been in the area but this feeder brought them to us after about 2 weeks. Highly recommend the grape jelly that seems to be what got them here not they eat both.

This feeder attracts Oriels easily if they are around.
I first spotted oriels at our new house this spring. I did not know what they were? I started with half an orange, then put out grape jelly. Now they don’t eat the orange. I works great, I wish I would have got a rather guard because the jelly gets all wet. But, they still eat it. I have not yet tried putting in the sugar after. You won’t go wring with this feeder.

Exactly like picture
Product arrived on time looks exactly like the picture nice and bright to attract the birds. Have not used yet so not sure if it leaks. Comes with bee guards and has an ant moat.
