Funny story, my child likes it.

Love these books me and my little one can sit for ages written them over and over Julia Donaldson is one of our favourite authors. Highly recommend this book for little ones.

Great little book, I hope my grand daughter loves it too.

For slightly older children than the usual JD audience (and it doesn’t rhyme). Good story and illustrations

Another winner from Julia Donaldson. Besides the rhyming, she tells a great story. All of her books are different in content but all are equally enjoyable. My "kids" at the inner city school in SanFrancisco, eagerly look forward to another book by Julia Donaldson. When I go back East to my grandchildren, I always carry two Julia Donaldson books with me and share them with their classes. David Roberts is a good illustrator for this type book. My husband also put his stamp of approval on this book and that is not easy to get!

have just received this latest book from Julia Donaldson and am delighted with it! my daughter (who is nearly 4), has had it read to her at least twice a day since we got it! It doesn't rhyme, as many of Donaldson's books do, however - it still easy to follow & fun to read. It is a modern take on the 3 billy goats gruff story, so is quite familiar - except for the pirates!This is definitely a current favourite in our household!

It feels like this book scrapes the barrel when it comes to the storyline. Lazy recycling of the Billy Goat's Gruff and your average pirate story. Lovely illustrations though.

Of course all her books are great but we love the troll. The way his lip sticks out, when our little guy is pouting we call it his troll lip and it instantly makes him smile. You can't beat that.

We love Julia Donaldson! If your a long time fan this book is full wonderful humor and beautiful pictures you've come to love in Julia's books. It's definitely one of our favorites along with Room on the broom, Charlie Cook's favorite book, and The snail and the whale. If your new to Julia's books this book book will bring laughter to both parent and child.
