Rubie's Dapper Dog Pet Costume, Small

My shihtzu is about 12 lbs and a size medium fit perfectly around his chest and stomach. The neck is very loose on him but can be easily fixed. It covers down to his rear, so it is a nice length, however this really depends on the length of your dogs body. The hat is adorable and very sturdy, not just cheap flimsy material. The chain on the back is a bit much for us, but it can also be easily removed. The suit does have a lining to it and appears to be nice comfortable material. Overall an adorable suit, and our doggy is sure to steal the show at our wedding.

My dog is a giant of the Pyrenees, he is huge, but the suit was great on him, it was a little big on the chest area and because of that it went down and we have to put it up for every picture, but I don't think a size down would have work. He stayed in the suit all afternoon and seemed comfortable with it. It was a hit at the party and everyone wanted to take pictures with this cutie!!

I think this is a great dog costume.Unfortunately it didn't fit our dog and the item doesn't come in an extra extra large size.The suggested measurements on line were different then the measurements suggested on the costume tag when it arrived. It was two sizes too small.This is unfortunate for not only did we not have the costume for the "doggie" party but we had to pay the shipping to return it.I wouldn't have ordered it if the measurement for a 78 pound Golden Retriever was accurate on line.

Mango was the absolute hit of the bridal shower. The costume fit him pretty well, but did need a bit of modification. Just an extra pin here and there. I also needed to re glue the straps on the hat because they broke off, no big deal. The costume is pretty cheap, so I didn’t expect it to be super high quality. It did the job though. He looked adorable.

I bought this for my cat and it was pretty cute on him. The size small fit (he's a husky kitty) but it was a little tight. I was disappointed in the product's quality. I opened the bag and right away noticed the little gold chain on the back was broken on one side. Then when trying to tighten the top hat, one of the strings broke off. I was able to fix it with glue and tape but it was obviously pretty cheaply made.

My dog was a hit in this costume. She won all 3 contests she entered. Since she has a split face, my dad said she reminded him of The Phantom of the Opera. This costume was perfect! HOWEVER, I don’t understand how they come up with their sizing... my dog is a medium sized dog who is 45lbs. How on earth is that considered an XL? I guess large breed dogs don’t get to have store bought costumes because either XL was the last size or there might have been one more up.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. This product was poorly made and the stitching on the velcro was coming apart before we even tried to get it on our dog. I had purchased this as a wedding surprise to have our dog show up at our wedding to be in the pictures. I opened the package and pieces fell out of the bag onto the floor. I tried to make the best of it and even after ordering an XL (which our dog is typically a medium in all other dog sizing of anything) it was not even close to working. The hat broke too in an attempt to wear that to salvage the outfit. I CANNOT STRESS TO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

I ordered this costume for my 70-75lb. black lab (who is a slim, fit dog), assuming it would fit perfectly because of the Rubies size chart I found. It was hard to get the costume on him, and when I did, it was very tight. In fact, I was unable to take it off him without cutting it around one of his front legs. The reason I'm writing this is because the costume package said it was the XXL-XXXL size. If you have a dog larger than a labrador retriever, they will not fit into this by any means. I wouldn't recommend it for a labrador retriever either. This is getting two stars because we did love the little top hat that came with the costume, which ended up being the only part he wore. We will keep that hat for future halloweens, as it was a big hit!

My 80lb dapper gentlemen melted many hearts in his tuxedo and top hat. He loves this outfit and all the attention he gets in it. He is very broad chested so we can't do it up all the way. It's a tiny bit tight in the arms, but this is the biggest size we could get. It fits well enough that he's comfortable, happy, and he looks so damn cute.

Really lovely outfit. My Poochon looks super dapper in it. I did measure but the chest is a bit snug. Apart from that I'm thrilled.

My heart melts looking at him! High quality but a little loose on the body but right on the neck.Got XXXL for my 100 pound Cane Corso!Great find super cute!!
