I have spent a great deal of time and money over many years on my fly fishing gear, some very expensive indeed.I wasn't expecting to be so impressed with this rod made in China and so inexpensive, but I am!However, the build quality is excellent and action on this 5wt rod which I would describe as low to mid action was just a bit slow for me so returned it and got the 6wt instead.The 6wt now has much better mid to tip action, just what I wanted. White spots painted on the blanks to help with rod alignment aren't perfect but close enough to start with.Only time will tell how it performs as a general use packaway fly rod; especially for my motorcycle trips to far away places.An update, I used the new rod all day today, quite windy but warm so fish were showing and this little rod handled very well with no sections working loose at all, which was so important to me. Packs away easily in panniers even the reel performance was good but didn't use the flies, I've got so many anyway.Finished with two nice 1.5 and 2lb rainbow trout.Very happy indeed.

I like the easy to pack size. I have used the rod a couple of times and the action is good. I have not been able to test it under stress yet!

Small and compact for travelers, just used it for the first time and caught two 4 pound trout, lovely smooth action while playing them . Love it

Thumbs up for a great travel rod at super pricepoint. Not ultrafast but mid action with great feel. Good if u have to fish light or are just starting your fly fishing journey.See it in the flesh on my video.

This travel rod is perfect it was well packaged when it arrived and fits together easily. I have fished with the rod it handles very well and is light and easy to use.
