These are little pearls made from a Japanese citrus fruit called Yuzu, somewhat like lemon, but a different taste. I used with fish dishes, shrimp, Alaskan king crab legs. Any place you want acidic " Wow " factor when you eat it. A rather large container, it goes a long way. You don't need much.

what's the shelf life of this product? How long after the best by/expiration date is the product good for?

The answer will vary depending on the flavor, where the pearls are stored and at what temperature. The Yuzu, balsamic and lemon have longer shelf life due to the acid in the product. I generally refrigerate after opening and use common sense as to whether a product is inedible.

Do the pearls dissolve in liquid?

The flavor pearls will eventually dissolve in liquid. If it is a hot liquid like tea this will begin immediately. In a cocktail or something else cold or room temp they should remain intact for 15 minutes or so.

The flavor is divine

You’ll love these pearls of flavor. I love texture and they pop when you bite is similar to caviar but with a yummy citrus flavor. Really great with so many different foods. Cheese, crackers and fruit.

Real zap in the mouth

Great for adding a high punchy note to a dessert or canapé. The juice can be useful too at the end, just reduce it to a syrup and use accordingly

Cool Product but average taste

I bought this with the black Cavi-art to make vegetarian latke amuse bouches. It looked pretty and the flavors were decent, but the "yuzu" flavor was more like weak lemon juice. Maybe they could have used oil from the rind to give it a stronger flavor. Maybe some of the other flavors are better? I was disappointed, plus the cost was way too high for a tiny glass jar condiment. I won't by again and will stick with the Caviart as affordable vegan caviar alternative.

Little worried about this product - Update

It was shipped with plenty of tape around the lid but it still leaked. Fortunately for me, it was in an envelope alone so no other products were affected. The liquid is a bit murky. Will be brave and try....possibly with alcohol just in case!UPDATE: Product is more than fine. In fact, it's lovely and perfect. Shipping is not the manufacturer's fault.

Delicious & fun garnish

I love the yuzu (citrus) flavor of these beads sprinkled atop a salad. They are so different and delicious. Could be used in a lemon drop martini or even iced tea and impress everyone!

Phenomenal

Arrived damaged/leaking

This product was rather pricey and arrived leaking all over the packaging. Obviously cannot use and the item is not returnable. The seller needs to be aware of this problem which seems to be in more than one instance

Expensive, but amazing flavor!

I absolutely LOVE these! I put them on top of yogurt along with fresh blueberries and/or strawberries, they even go great to top off some whitefish in place of thinly sliced lemon wedges. I only give 4 stars because of the price... OOF!!! Definitely awesome, but I keep it to a rare treat so my wallet doesn't turn into dust!
