Great laptop stand for $40
This laptop stand is great. I have not had any issues from it, and I've had it for almost 4 months now. However, I am not able to clamp this to my desk, and so I had to clamp it upside down, hanging down from my loft bed. And one of the parts broke off when I tried clamping it, and so I had to improvise. However, I am sure that this is not a common issue. This stand is really great, and I got it for $40. It's really sturdy, too, even to the point where if I wiggle it, my loft bed wiggles with it too! It is very easy to adjust, and it fits my 17" laptop perfectly. The building process is very easy, too.

Solidly built. Easy to install. Looks good. Just works.
Bought it to hold a keyboard and mouse touchpad combo. Really solid while typing. No bouncing at all, even when the arm is fully extended. I'm going to buy another one to hold my 17" laptop since I'm now certain it would do the job without even breaking a sweat. Super easy to put together and install on a table via the clamp. Two extremely beefy turn screws to anchor to the table. Clamp has a rubber pad so it won't scratch your table. Clamp bolts together from two parts using 2 hex-head screws (hex wrench included) and there are 3 sets of screws so you can adapt the clamp to fit from a normal desk thickness all the way to a ridiculous 4" thick. Mounting bracket and pole looks like it could survive a nuclear war. Be careful to tighten the arm clamp to the pole sufficiently or it might slowly walk down the pole each time you rotate the arm. You can verify this by seeing that the arm clamp does not rotate on the pole along with the arm. Subtle if you don't notice it at first, but very important in my case since the arm passes over some other electronics when I rotate it. The tray that comes with it is way too big for my keyboard, but it does work and is very solid. As I said earlier, the tray would hold a very large laptop with no problems at all. The good thing here is that the tray attaches with 4 bolts to a simple mounting plate, so any tray with the properly spaced holes would fit. I'm going to build a custom tray for my keyboard today. Should be awesome when it's done. Last thing is that the arm and joints that support the tray are quite thick, so they hang down about 2.5" under the tray. Thus, if you want to have your keyboard/laptop/whatever float just above your table (or as in my case, just above some other electronics), the best you can do is about 3" above. However, I'll take that in exchange for the insane stability and strength of this thing. I wish they sold additional arms for mounting other stuff to the same pole since there is no doubt it can handle it. The table lip would break off before the mount failed. In my case, the arm joints were too tight to easily move the keyboard around, so I popped off the caps as suggested by another reviewer and loosened them just a bit. Now the keyboard glides around with a minimal effort but still stays in place while in use. UPDATE: I now own 3 of these and they are awesome. Since you can't (apparently) purchase just another arm, I bought one just for the arm, so I now have 2 arms mounted happily on one pole. The third holds my laptop on another desk.

Wobbly Without Work
I have a very small desk space and I need to use two computers at the same time sometimes, so I was hoping to find something that would allow me to elevate the computer I used the least and shove it off to the side to keep from wasting desk space. This stand ended up being exactly what I was looking for.... *mostly*. While it did elevate my second laptop, and it does allow me to shove that laptop out of the way whenever it is not in use, it does have a couple of flaws that will require some fiddling with to make this product work as intended. First, the laptop platform is wide enough for a standard Dell laptop, with a lot more depth than I really needed, but that allows me to keep a couple of tools within easy reach now. However, my biggest complaint is that this laptop platform is very very wobbly as assembled. The platform simply slides into a track on the arm, and then you secure the two pieces together with a nut... however, there is still a LOT of play between the track on the platform, and the plate on the arm. I had to use zip ties to "shim" between the rails of the track and the plate in order to take the wobble out of the whole part the laptop sits on. It wasn't a *lot* of wobble - maybe a distance of a quarter of an inch at the sides, all told - but any wobble at all was very irritating as I attempted to work on the laptop secured there. After making my "shims" to close the gap, the wobble is significantly decreased, and I can work comfortably now. The other issue I had was how the assembly was a bit fiddly and almost required three or four hands during the process at times... but I managed it with judicious use of knees and elbows. Finally, I was afraid that I was going to either break the adjustment screw ot strip it, to make sure that the pitch adjustment of the laptop platform would stay where I put it, rather than tipping forward under the weight of a pretty lightweight computer. I eventually plucked up my courage and just kept tightening well past when I should have been able to stop, because if I couldn't get the laptop platform to stay relatively horizontal, it wouldn't matter if I broke the adjuster or not, because it wouldn't work anyway. It did eventually tighten up, although it doesn't take as much force as it should to tip it downward again, so I'm not sure how long that will last. If I tightened something that tight on an engine block, I'd crack something... so with that expectation in mind, the adjuster SHOULD have stayed put... without having to almost break the tool to do it. Speaking of tools, the nice thing about this mount is that they include *almost* every tool you need to assemble it, and even include a place for you to store the tools they included right on the mount, so you always have them handy if you need to make an adjustment. The only tool they didn't include was a screwdriver, which will be absolutely necessary to properly mount the laptop platform to the mounting plate. The rest of the construction is quite good, very sturdy, and adjustments are easy and smooth. Even when fully tightened down, you can still swing the arm around to get it out of your way or to pull it into place to work on. The arm is very durable, and the post the arm is mounted on is thick and sturdy. I did end up cutting that pole in half because I didn't need to raise my second laptop that high, and the unused portion of the pole was rather obtrusive on the view past that part of my desk. But that worked out well, and it currently fits exactly my needs. All in all, this was exactly the mount I needed to simplify and streamline my desk so that I didn't lose a large piece of real estate there. It wasn't perfect out of the box, but it only took me about an hour after I finished assembling it to make all the adjustments and changes to it to make it behave in the intended fashion. Don't be afraid to "over-tighten" things, because otherwise, it might not be stable for you. Otherwise, it's a good piece of equipment, and I recommend it if you're willing to fiddle if needed.

Quality materials, strength of construction, flexibility in uses
This computer support arm is a godsend after back surgery. And leave it to Amazon’s vast selection to offer it. I can sit in the pictured support chair and work on my laptop for hours without having to hold a thing while back is healing. The support platform can be positioned in a multitude of positions, visualization of the close-up screen is excellent and no neck pain ensues in the process. I’m sure the product was never designed for this particular use, but for the very reasonable amount of money invested, the return is enormous. Assembly involves a simple couple of easy steps following excellent included instructions. This is a 5-star item, don’t hesitate but just go for it. CEK

Your back and nexk will thank you
I should note that I bought a similar mount from another vendor that had certain advantages (notably, it had two screws to affix to the underside of the desk). However, it was damaged upon arrival, and I ordered this rather than run the risk of another poorly packaged product. First, this is an idea whose time has come. I mean, most home office desks are about 32 inches raised from the floor. A standard laptop stand will add only a few inches more -- not a lot if you spend much time craned over a laptop. The difference here is HUGE, I mean, you're neck will thank you inside of a week. This is solidly constructed and very simple in appearance -- works well in my effort to declutter. What you need to know: * This is of sturdy construction and is a breeze to put together (even for me! ;) * It raises a laptop to eye level (I'm 6' 1" and, as noted, my desktop is about 32" off the ground) * The arm has several joints and the plate holding the laptop angles to about 15 degrees allowing for adjustments to fit your own preferences (closer, angled, etc). * The plate holds my 15" wide laptop without concern of it's falling off despite a slight overhang on either side. * Blessedly, you can swing your computer out of the way to clear your desk of any clutter and to get down to the business of writing longhand, etc. * I was concerned the clamp would not prove sturdy, but after more than a week of intensive use I've had no issues.

Great
I use this all the time to switch from the desk to the couch. Swings and shifts easily if you keep it loose. Otherwise you have to tighten and loosen with an alan wrench

Great work positioning your laptop exactly to your main monitor
At work we have large adjustable standing desks which are great for switching between standing and sitting. The only issue is trying to find how to adjust the laptop (where you are using the laptop screen with a main monitor). So far I used different methods, laptop stand with reams of copy paper. All of these ideas do not hold the laptop very stable and in the end, you still have the adjustment issue with the laptop matching to the monitor. After using the Vivo stand, this has solved the issue. The stand is very solid, enough that I can fully extend the arms, and there is little movement when I adjust the laptop or adjust my desk. Another big plus is the fact that the stand can easily move lateral position easily, so if you want to access the side ports on the laptop, then move it back again doesn't require any thing more than a push of the hand. Something to also note about the stand, since the laptop stand is using a large metal plate, it's helpful for holding tablets, books, or sheet music. With the near maximum opening on the Apple Macbook Pro, the angle of the stand is still enough to hold my phone over the trackpad, which makes for a great personal viewing while at work. This frees up my desk from one more thing. The only down side is the weight and size of the stand. Unless you have a very thick desk, I would not recommend this due to the size of the clamps and the length of the arms. If you're using a thinner desk, you could clam smaller pieces of plywood to increase the clamping area but it's not recommended. Overall, a great laptop stand, very well built and it's a favorite for me at work. For home, it's too big and bulky, plus I don't need dual monitors, which is why I use a vertical stand instead.

Very easy to set up and very sturdy - Loving it
Bought it to set up an extra portable in my table which was a bit inconveniently designed for multiple screens. Turned out that the product is exactly what i needed - very easy to setup, very sturdy and absolutely loving it! Must buy for anyone planning to expand their desks!
