Function, Fit and Quality
These are a Lowrance product and replacement was a simple install, test and start catching fish again. Not sure why the original cable failed after about 10 years but this should last as long, or longer.

Make sure you know what this will do
Setting up your HDS system can be a little confusing if you don't fully understand how their system works. Basically, they have 3 network systems. Ethernet (which this cable is used for) is a high speed point-to-point communication system. NMEA2000 is a medium speed bus system. NMEA0183 is a low speed point-to-point communication system. When using this ethernet cable between two HDS units, you have full sonar data sharing. That means when you add a waypoint on one unit, it will automatically be added to the second unit (whether it's powered on or off). When you edit all attributes, move or delete a waypoint on one unit, it will do the same on the second unit. Routes are also shared by both units as are alarms, system settings and data sources. Trails are not shared and any non-system settings (like text size) are not shared. Charts are an individual unit item and charts are not shared with any of the network systems. If you only want limited waypoint sharing that allows you to add waypoints but not edit, move or delete them, then you would want to use the NMEA2000 bus system to each unit. Finally, you can only have up to 3 HDS displays on an Ethernet network. You can have up to 50 devices/HDS displays on a NMEA2000 network. Good luck setting your system up the way you want it.
