Power Slinky are 2 standard gauges thicker than Super Slinky. So the only difference is the thickness of the strings.

Q: Can these be used in drop b on a les paul style guitar

I've used them drop c on my les paul and not too bad

I always use Ernie Ball .009 -.042 on my acoustic as I like light strings and they keep a good tone for weeks.

Hi, These aren't coated strings. They are made of cobalt which reacts with the pickups a bit more to increase output. The 4th, 5th and 6th strings are made with cobalt but the plains are standard ernie ball plains. Thanks EmileStrings Direct
