Good but overrated
I got a box of this today. It's a solid incense, but in my opinion not as good as the Satya Sai Baba (blue box) Nag Champa. The smell is lighter and doesn't linger as long, which could be either good as bad. The thing I don't like about it is that to me the smell doesn't have as much depth, and it isn't as calming and the blue box offering. Others have described the red box incense as being sweeter, but to my nose it's actually the opposite, I think this one is much dryer and more reserved. There's definitely nothing wrong with it and I'm glad I smelled it for myself to compare the two, although personally I'll definitely be sticking with blue box for now. (Though I could see myself occasionally using some of the red box stuff just to change it up every once in a while.)

Not what it used to be
I read in another review that the company that makes this stuff changed hands and production is now different. This had been my favorite incense so I ordered a box just to see. Unfortunately, it pales in comparison to the few sticks I have from a few years ago.The new one still smells ok, but it's lost all of its musky depth and balance. The new one is light and perfumy. I prefer Goloka brand over this.Sad! Will not be reordering. Currently looking for a new favorite Nag Champa.Update: I ordered some new incense called Om Nagchampa and I'm very pleased with it - it smells a lot like how this red nag champa used to smell. I recommend that one over this one.

Decent scent, but I prefer regular Nag Champa over this stuff.
This red version is ok, but I prefer the regular Nag Champa more.

The Best Incense Ever!
Hands down the Red Nag Champa is the best incense I have ever tried. I have always been a big fan of the Nag Champa Superhit and decided to try the Red Nag Champa and was pleasantly surprised. The scent is intoxicating and the perfect strength. It last long and burns great. If you want a sweet, alluring scent that will fill the room and calm you, this is the incense for you. I will order this incense time and time again. Number one on my list of incense.

Smells like your house is on fire!!!
I absolutely love Nag Champa and am trying to find new variations of the scent I so love. Upon reading such great reviews of this product from other reviews that compared these to the blue satyas and concluded these were superior. So I ordered the Shanthimalai and the cause was great too as the proceed benefit women in Tamil Nadu. From the moment I opened the package I could tell I didn't care for the scent but I know that the smells change once burned so I gave it a shot right away and lit one...instantly my room smelled awful (like another reviewed said like a fire log or burnt wood) and I'm not exaggerating that is exactly what it smells like. I have smelled better Nag Champa attempts at Wal-Mart...I really wanted to like these as I had read such great things about them..oh well I guess I will cross these off my list and keep on searching...I still have found none better than "Goloka Nag Champa" they ARE the best!!!I also recommend "Hem Buddha" for a traditional indian scent...

Satya Baba convert.
This is my new favorite incense, I am a convert from Satya Baba blue box incense. It is absolutely more pleasing to the senses than the dry, flaky blue box brand. I am all about this! The smell is amazing, layered, and rich enough that I don't even have to burn a whole stick. My first impression was not good, the box looked old, but after burning it I am very happy & continue to order it. (Box shown is new box)

Not better than the blue for me, but still excellent
I really like the red nag champa and it has a distinct smell compared to the blue or other incense. And it's very likeable, but my own preference is the blue is a little better, because the red is a little lighter / sweeter. Maybe that's what you like better, if so, give the red a try. I still plan to buy the red on a regular basis because I like some variety going on. another thing, these red sticks burn for a really long time. I was not really paying attention and still noticed it.

Just like the popular Nag Champa, with a bit more fragrant notes
My experience with the red Nag Champa is exactly as others have described. It retains the base scent that Nag Champa is known for while adding a slightly more flowery undertone.I'm more of a regular Nag Champa (Satya Sai Baba) guy, and I'd pick Super Hit over this if it were the end of the world and I had to choose just one. That being said, it's not the end of the world and red Nag Champa is a nice complement to add to any Nag Champa household.
