Pearson Molecular Model Set for General and Organic Chemistry

Superior set, a must have for Orgo, and should have for General Chem
This is a good set to have for any Chemistry student. For College Freshman Chemistry I and II, this helps when you get to orbitals and their geometrical shapes... rather than just memorizing that an sp3 carbon is tetrahedral, or that an sp2 carbon is planar, you can 'see' it! This helps a bunch and brings some meaning to otherwise meaningless technical jargon. Also, having gone to a couple of colleges, and visited even more, this type of set is the preferred set among instructors, and I can see why. This set allows for both ball and stick and space-filling models. I have no complaints...Though, just 1 set seems to be a little stingy on what they give... I just bought two and mixed them.A must have. A+

Amazing Kit To Understanding Organic Chemistry!!!
In my opinion i highly recommend this kit for those who are taking Organic I and II and want to learn how simple molecules look in 3D instead of trying to imagine it in their head. Its simple to understand and really fun to use. When i was using i was saying "wow so thats how it looks like" This is a great kit to start to understand the basis on Stereochemistry and even after you understand the basics. The molecules are also durable and resistant so don't be afraid if you think they break easily, mine haven't broken yet :P

good craftmanship
these are beautfully crafted molecular models...however, the links are a little bit tight to fit in the holes of the atoms...i can only do a few models because my fingers would hurt after a while...but generally the quality is good...btw the shipment was excellent, and the item in perfect condition.

Helpful and Fun :)
I'm taking organic chemistry right now, so I thought it'd be a good idea for me to buy this model set. Some of the reviews said that a single set does not contain enough pieces, so I bought two just in case...I ended up not needing it that much in the fall semester, but that was more due to my learning style than anything else. When I did use it I had SO MUCH FUN. I felt like a nerdy little kid again, and it was awesome. In all seriousness, I wouldn't use this set on an exam because it takes a little while to put the pieces together and take them apart, but for homework problems involving molecules that you just can't visualize (especially tricky stereochemistry problems), it's really helpful. We'll see if I use it more for organic chemistry this spring, or for inorganic chem next year.My only real complaint is that even with two sets you can't make buckminsterfullerene...you need 60 carbons for that... :(

Great force fanfic chemistry!
I bought this as a used kit and I've had this model kit for 5 years. It has held up very well. I used this for my 2 semesters of organic chemistry and my wife also used it for her organic chemistry classes. I highly recommend this kit as it is durable and can help you understand things like steric hindrance. This help me a lot to succeed in organic chemistry (I got an A both semesters). I highly recommend this kit to anyone taking organic chemistry.

Materials are decent, minus two stars for being overpriced plastic balls. Made in China. It should cost less, not more
Materials are decent. Minus two stars for being overpriced plastic balls. Made in China. That means it should cost less, not more, right?Student goughing on the price, otherwise, should help you conceptualize molecule conformations and structure. Now if they could only put in the electron models, these would truly be complete. Those that do not understand chemistry are doomed to not understand how life and the earth work. These models bring light to the darkness of our shadowed minds. Good on you for being in school, or better yet, teaching it.

Excellent Chemistry Molecular Model set
This is an excellent set for building models of molecules. It has plenty of pieces for a beginner set and we love it. It helps visualize what molecules are made up of, what they might look like and valency. The set comes in a compact box for storage and is easy to carry around. Wish I had something like this when I was growing up (I am a Chemistry major). The only tough part is pulling apart the pieces. The set comes with a gadget to lever and pull pieces apart but it is still a challenge especially for young kids (10-12 years of age). I guess it will get easier with use.

Just what I needed
The pieces are solid and snap together well. There will be no pieces falling off for sure.I wish the set was larger for the money. Other than that, no complaints. Good set with good quality pieces.Note, this is a set of ORGANIC chemistry models. My son was playing with them and whined that there were elements not represented. I pointed out to him that it is for organic chem and he laughed and said ok, I guess. Now I need to get him another set of inorganic pieces I suppose. :)

Two thumbs up
Empfehlenswert
