Yahoo, it works!
This little sign has done its job. I was constantly being disturbed by solicitors and, because of my work schedule, I sometimes have to try to get some daytime sleep.I was about to have a recording play with each push of the doorbell --- 'no, I don't want aluminum siding, landscaping, new cable service, coupon books, or school candies, and please don't try to sell me a security system, when I already have one clearly posted outside the door.'I also live within walking distance of a very active church. I won't go into the number of times they have rang the doorbell and after exhausting that announcement, they begin banging on the door. Definitely admirable persistence, but they must know this is high on the nuisance factor scale. Like a '10!'This little sign is small enough not to be an eyesore, but large enough to get the point across, if placed strategically. I installed it right over my doorbell so it can't be missed. While it has adhesive on the back that would work for a smooth surface, my wall is textured, so I added some superglue to make sure it's permanent --- and that someone can't just rip it off to show their displeasure with the message. It's been hanging tough and I've had NO solicitors since posting it.

Nice clean and small
Nice clean and small. I really did not want a large sign and I had purchased one of these before and loved it then. This is my second one, for a new house. Most of the other "small" ones are 2 inches wider than this and look cheap. This is very clean and solid. Mounted great, directly to brick.

At first, I felt unsure..but it's a great little sign!
This smallish sign is very cute and effective. The design is excellent, and the vendor very communicative, if you have questions. I was curious about the price of postage and received a reply stating that the vendor has no control over that. When I ordered, I chose white on black, so it would stand out. In addition, I purchased a staked sign from another vendor, also in white on black: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BJWR1IW/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1My intention is to post effective signs that do not detract from the beauty of my home and neighborhood. These signs accomplish that.

Laser Engraved No Soliciting sign
The quality of the sign is good. However, I was quite surprised at the size of the sign. Looking at the ad on Amazon, I expected a larger sign .Didn't expect it to arrive in a letter sized envelope. I should have been more aware of the size, that is clearly spelledout in the Ad. I would suggest that more attention be brought to the size of the sign in the information provided. Speaking for myself, I will be more alert and read every bit of information provided in the future. Not sure if this miniscule sign will even be noticed on my gate.Lucy

Shipping price is Amazon's fault, not seller's
The sign is fine, does what it's supposed to, the price is reasonable, and is small and discreet so as not to be tacky. If you decide to buy this, you should know that you will receive the item in a standard envelope with two stamps for postage. The shipping price of $4.99 is completely unreasonable. HOWEVER -- you should know that the fault is with Amazon, not the seller. Amazon has a minimum shipping charge of $4.49 for third party sellers. See this page:http://www.amazon.com/gp/aag/details?ie=UTF8&asin=B005NES9XI&isAmazonFulfilled=&isCBA=&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&orderID=&seller=AYL8AYACL8ALM&sshmPath=shipping-rates#aag_shippingOf course, I doubt the seller is complaining since they are probably pocketing the difference between the two stamps it costs to mail the package and what they actually receive from Amazon for shipping. For what it's worth, I contacted Amazon customer service and complained about the egregious overcharge for shipping, especially in light of what the seller paid. I actually ordered two signs, and was charged separately for each one, even though the seller mailed them in a single envelope. Amazon replied promptly and refunded me the price of the shipping. So if you bought one of these and think you were overcharged for shipping, I encourage you to contact Amazon customer service. If enough people complain, perhaps it will prompt them to revise their mandatory shipping charges to account for items that can be mailed via standard first-class postage.

Cheap product, expensive product
I was looking for a "No Soliciting" sign for my front door. After reviewing this item, it seemed to meet my needs. When it arrived it was a piece of cheap-plastic with a strip of two-sided tape on the back, wrapped in saran wrap. I paid $2.99 for this item and $4.99 for shipping and handling. Ha, it came in a package that cost $0.60 to mail through the U.S. Postal Service. This sign would not survive the first good storm that hit my home. Very disappointed.

keeps the kirby guy away!!!
Ive always been bothered by the folks cruising by my house distributing flyers (which is not the part that bothera me) and ringing the door bell just to let you know there is something there. Since placing this sign on my front door the posting of flyers has reduced but the best part of all when my door bell rings i can almost be certain someone is there.I belong to an HOA and the sign is discrete enough where the association has not taken notice or does not see it being an eye sore.So far quality wise its withstood a few good showers and the afternoon sun that hits my front door head on.

Not bad
It's a nice little sign. A bit expensive as other reviewers have stated, especially the shipping cost, but it looks good and the size is perfect. It fits right above the doorbell and is not obtrusive at all. The adhesive strip on the back might work on a flat wall, but if you have a textured surface such as stucco, you'll have to come up with a different way of mounting it.
