Brilliant for 8-10 year olds
Great game for kids that keeps on changing the more you play. Helps with planning skills and decision making. Artwork is very good, my kids love it!

Great game
1 month later still playing the game as the game keep adding parts to it the more you play. So much fun and easy to learn the rules we play with our 9, 7 and 6 year old and everyone understands gameplay. Definitely recommend

Brilliant game
This is such a good game, I cannot recommend it enough. As a family we have loved plating each level to open the next t envelope to find out what we face next. Even when you have opened all the envelopes this game has playability.

Fun and collaborative
A fun collaborative game, we are looking forward to seeing how the rules develop with the envelopes opening

Fun even when you lose, but difficulty ramps up
I played quite a few games of this with my children (6 and 9). The youngest often struggles with losing. However, because you add progress stickers even when you lose, and unlock new features, it didn't bother him at all when we lost - which happened often. The basic game is simple but still fun. It would get a bit boring, but the unlocked features add interest. The difficulty does ramp up quite quickly though. At first, you're adding 1 zombie per round, but can remove 2 if you're positioned in the right place. But after the first couple of unlocked "powers", you're adding two zombies every round and not guaranteed to remove two. So at best your maintaining, and more likely slowly getting overwhelmed. You can always just choose to leave the unlocked features in the box though.

Fantastic Board Game to get the kids working together
This is a collaborative game that changes as you play it. We were looking for things to give us family activity time during Covid lockdown and I'd read good reviews. The base game is really simple and straightforward; my 8 and 6 yr old boys had it sorted after 2 or 3 games. It encourages them to plan ahead and collaborate by discussing how we're all gonna defeat the Zombies. Then as you play the game more and more, it slowly introduces extra components like Super Zombies and Special Powers, which evovle the game play in a very accessible and logical way. At 15mins a game (give or take) we often ran through a few back to back. The boys love it and we've played maybe 20 games over 3months; which is a huge success if you ask me. Buy it, enjoy it and don't let the Zombies take over the school!!

Possibly the best board game this 45 year old has ever played!
Zombie Kidz has captured the imagination of our family more than any game we've ever played. The concept seem simple at first (even our 5 year old enjoys and understands it), but as you progress and open more envelopes, the additional rules make the game far more tactical. The progression system is the thing that really got us hooked, but even now we've opened all the envelopes we'll still be revisiting the game from time to time. I would recommend only awarding yourself a brain sticker after you've WON a game. I can see why the makers tell you to take one whether you've won OR lost - the progression system means that there are a couple of difficulty spikes a few envelopes in - but it's worth a try if you fancy an extra challenge. All in all, possibly the best board game I've ever played, and I'm 45!

My kid loves it
Got this for my daughter as we enjoy playing board games together and I'd heard good things. It's now her favourite game, she had lots of fun filling in the information in the booklet naming the characters and zombies after family members, though not sure her uncle likes having a zombie named after him! Good fun, evolution is great and I can't wait to find out what comes out of the next envelope to modify the game. Great fast paced game. Love it

Kids love it for the levelling up experience. Simple but effective way for kids to gradually learnt about the game mechanics from basic to slightly more complicated with the additio al power boosts.

My son and I no longer play this game. Sadly. But man we got our moneys worth! We probably played over 40 games of Zombie Kidz. This game does a few things amazingly well...it slowly adds rules and complexity...it constantly provides incentives for further gameplay...and the gameplay is fairly quick for kids with short attention spans. You also still are allowed small progressions even when you lose. The theme and artwork are fun. Like a video game, once you complete the campaign we don't feel a huge need to revisit the game. But what other kids game have we played 40 plus times?? By far the best gaming experience I have had with my son, who was 5 when we played. I think the ideal age would be 5 to 8. For 20ish bucks...what are you waiting for?! 2024 Update: bought this game a second time to play with my other son, who is nine. He is not a gamer at all, almost an anti-gamer. He loves this game and it has been, again, one of my best gaming experiences. Just a note: I was curious why there were some negative reviews for the game...looks like most (if not all) are commenting on the rules only being in English. I don't see anything in the product description that would communicate otherwise but maybe I missed something.

Picked this game up after reading positive reviews. I wanted something more challenging to play with my children, ages 5 and 8 and wanted it to be co-op. This game checked those boxes, so gave it a try! It’s been a huge success. Both my children enjoy the challenge and strategy of this game. Despite it involving “killing” zombies, it is not violent. You only need to move into a room to “kill” them and they are cycled back into the game. One of the biggest attractions of this game is the progression system, much like what is done in video games. As you play and complete various challenges you unlock (open sealed envelopes) different skills and abilities. My children absolutely love this and are eager to open another envelope to see what’s next. On the strategy level, new abilities keep the game fresh and ever changing. It starts slow and simple, and each envelope adds a layer of complexity, but the progression is gradual and allows children to work their way up to a quite complex game one step at a time. The changes never feel unfair, and you won’t always win. But we never find it frustrating. The game also offers a variety of ways to play. One side of the board is for two players, one side is for 3-4 players and changes how you can move about the board. My youngest really enjoys just playing with dad, so it works well. This game is a favourite in our house and we’ll be picking up Zombie Teens when we finish it. Bottom Line: Highly recommended purchase. Excellent co-op game, great strategy and very fun and exciting progression system. Both my children love it.
