Globalization: A Very Short Introduction (Very Short Introductions)

I liked this book. That said, I thought that some of the info presented could have been left-out in search of a "shorter" book with just as much impact, meaning, and thoughtfulness. Some of the historical info that was added was not necessary yet I can see where another reader might welcome the addition. This might have been the interference of an Editor/Publisher that believes "more is more".I was recently advised by a friend to abandon the term: Globalization. In her opinion, "people here really hate that word!" That may be but I've wracked my brain for another and come up dry. Anyway, all-in-all a worthwhile read and presents some good foundation for the points-of-view presented. As I've tied my future to the subject of Globalization/Internationalization/XXX-ization, I read a bit about it and this was worth my time.I feel that in the end, it was in-fact, "The End" that really delighted me. It's a comprehensive list of reading's and references and it is for me a treasure. I have already discovered resources for my own work that I simply wasn't aware of. Good job! Good Read! Recommended.

My dad teaches AP political science, economics, basically any social studies class you can think of. He recently took up helping my 13-year old sister understand social studies more (my younger siblings struggle with social studies). This book gave my dad another perspective to explain globalization that helped my sister to understand. I would recommend for anyone struggling to learn globalization.

It's alright, kind of painful to have to sit down and read but you do learn a bit.

Purchased the book for a class. It is smaller print than I expected but still readable. Book is also easy to take with me due to its compact size. :) also doing was fast and efficient.

First of all, this is a good coverage on the history of globalization. However, the topic has not been fully discussed thanks to the limited pages.

Excellent starting point for learning about globalisation. I used this in my final year of uni but it is written in a straightforward way.

Easy to read perfect for my university course to get a better simpler understanding

As a short introduction this covered the main areas of the subject well.

Utilizzo questo testo per un'esame univeristario. E' molto interessante se si vuole avere una panoramica generale riguardo il tema trattato. E' interessante notare come l'autore si concentra sul carattere storico sul tema globalizzazione. Utilizza un linguaggio semplice (apparte alcuni tecnicismi), e spiega il tema trattato da una prospettiva diversa rispetto altri testi. Sicuramente consigliato!

This book is a very short introduction to the topic keeping dimensions of the globalization in central focus.

My only complaint is that I can not use my Read &Write program with Kindle or print off sections I needed for class.
