The last bodybuilding show I did one of the critiques from the judges after the show was that my back needed to be thicker/wider. I've always had problems getting that mind to muscle connection when it came to training my back because it seems sometimes I was struggling more with my grip or my grip gave out before my back muscles did while training. So I needed HELP!!In to the rescue comes ................Haulin Hooks...........SIMPLY AWESOME!! I can now hook onto the bar with the hooks no matter what kind it is (olympic bars, machine bars, etc) and pull with my elbows to really get that back contraction in the upper to middle of my back without having to worry about my grip or letting my biceps do a lot or any of the work!! I can even hold it the squeeze for 2 seconds with my hands in a "loose grip" and that will get your back feeling like its on fire in all the places you want!!The HHooks are also well made as I put them through hell, every workout, plus the fit is good without cutting off circulation!! Another think I like about this product is the strap comes straight out not at an angle or from the side in like other wrist straps which to me makes the grip more secure without any stress felt on the wrists like the standard wrist straps.All in all, these Haulin Hooks are working better than even I expected and I would give them an A+ not just an A cuz my back in the 2.5 months I have been using these HHooks my back has grown thicker/wider than ever before. I'm starting to look like a bona fide bodybuilder from the back not just the front!! Thank you Haulin Hooks!!!

I ordered these for my son because he wanted to start working out more at home for high school sports. I wanted something that would decrease a chance of injury and maximize his workouts. These hooks do the job and he can concentrate on doing reps compared to pain and blisters on hands and wrists. He can even wear the hooks over his weight lifting gloves when he is doing dumbbell lifts (squats, lunges, step-ups, etc...) The pair I ordered did not have the rubber cover for the hooks, I order the hook cover separate (excellent addition to the hooks).

Work great! I have some moderate damage to a tendon in my elbow that negates any grip i have. So now i can isolate my "golfers elbow" and continue to use my Total Gym. Im not trying to lift insane weight any more, just going for mid weight high reps. The only issue i have with these is that curls tend to make the hooks punch your palm or fingers a bit. A set of lifting gloves would fix this easily. All in all the material is great, the padding is comfy and i still have circulation. I would definitely recommend for people with grip issues/damage.

Have tried many various other hooks and lifting aids, most have been acceptable but in the end have only lasted a short time. With most the fabric being the weak link. So after looking around i decided upon splashing out the $57 for these puppies! I am pleasantly surprised and i am very happy with them. The hooks are of a sturdy construction and are wide enough apart for my hands to make a 3 finger grip in between them possible. Making usage very easy and comfortable, which is also facilitated by the ability to actually change the position of the hooks distance from the hand. This is an awesome feature as you can then use different bars and get better grips for different lifts. Overall i recommend these bad boys to anyone who need a pair of lifting hooks that are built to last. The best i have ever used! Awesome!

These are certainly popular and many seem to like them, but I didn't find I could comfortably lift any more with these than without. I had hoped it would help my grip, but the reality is it just moved the pain from my hands to my wrists and didn't help me at all.

Lead to wrist and to elbow issue...AVOID

I love these guys! I have no idea why I didn't invest in a set sooner. I have average size hands for a man, they would be large on a woman, but they aren't winning any Guenis world record for hand size. Through most of my workout my hand strength is ample enough to accomplish what I'm trying to do. Where I would always run into trouble is deadlifts, shruggs & calf raises. Enough so that towards the end of a set my hands would be hanging open & the bar close to falling to the floor. This can lead to(& has) fewer reps, longer time between sets &/or cheating to get through your set. I've used wraps in the past, but they are a pain in the neck to hook up to a bar as well as time consuming. But w/ these hauling hooks, you just basically grab the weight as you normally would & start your set. They are comfortable, although the velcrow strap is a little stiff @ first, & somewhat hard to run through the opening to fasten onto your wrist, but this is remedied after 3 or 4 uses when they get broke in. They add so much to how much you are able to lift in any exercise where hand strength was a limiting factor. These may seem a little pricey, but before I picked up a set I checked out the reviews on other cheaper brands & the reviews on these & these sounded like the best for the long haul. You usually get what you pay for & a common note about the cheaper 1's was that they had the tendancy to tear. I don't think I read 1 review claiming these 1's did, &(don't quote me on this because I'm not certain, but I don't know why I would think this if it weren't true) I think these are guarenteed that if they do tear the company will send you a new set. So for $50 you would have a constant supply of hooks unless the company goes under, seems like a pretty good deal to me.

I was looking for a way to hold by grip whenever I did barbell/dumbbell shrugs, rows and deadlifts, and this is the perfect products. The hooks are strong and enables me to hold my grip for a longer period of time. The only negative is the hook doesn't fit around all the dumbbells in my gym. But overall, a very good product!
