wireless mice are nice but...
wireless mice are nice but often interfere with other devices on the same frequency, especially with side by side computers. Too many side button are often activated accidentally. the side buttons on this mouse are well out of the way of accidental thumb activation, and function quite reliably

Very good mouse with great bang for the buck and few downsides (click volume discussed in this review)
I switched to this from a stock Dell mouse. I use Logitech at work. I had almost forgot how much I liked the plain two button and scroll wheel mouse from Microsoft. PROs: Comfortable in the hand, solid drivers (recognized easily by Windows and do not need to be reloaded), no batteries to replace like with wireless, easy gripping, and good granular controls for business, home, and light gaming use. Simple, direct, and dependable with a good price. I'm not big on the side and additional buttons with other models, which I accidentally click (frequently). The basic Logitech is not bad, but I rate the Microsoft over it because I find that I have better control/granularity with the wheel and click zones. Like my favorite shovel (on the farm), this mouse does the job, does it well, and it is not overly cute or complex. CONs: Not many cons when you consider price/performance. The cord could be a little longer. As noted by other reviewers, the left/right clicks are louder than expected. In terms of click volume, it is about the same as when I am speed typing on my mechanical keyboard. (If you think it will bother you, it probably will. If you think that you probably won't care, then you won't.) #

Comfortable in the hand
The previous mouse I was using on my Windows 7 Pro PC suffer the same fate as all the other cheap mices before it . That after thousands of left click the button has become too worn out to function properly. Those types rely on the flexibility of the plastic to allow enough bending to be depressed, causing a click. After looking at the available models on Amazon, I settled on the particular model under review here, PROs: Comfortable in the hand, solid drivers (recognized easily by Windows and do not need to be reloaded), no batteries to replace like with wireless, easy gripping, and good granular controls for business, home, and light gaming use. Simple, direct, and dependable with a good price. I'm not big on the side and additional buttons with other models, which I accidentally click (frequently). Like this mouse because it does the job, does it well, and it is not overly cute or complex. Not many cons when you consider price/performance.

Its a medium sized mouse thats comfortable to hold and maneuver easy on the mouse pad
Its a medium sized mouse thats comfortable to hold and maneuver easy on the mouse pad. The left/right buttons have a nice spring rate, which is in between a medium and hard, which I really like, because my fingers are strong. With the spring rate being a tiny bit stiffer than normal, you hear a good click, but I don't notice it half the time. My old mouse had an easy spring rate on the L/R bottoms and I tend to click on things I didn't want too. The optics tracks well over any surface. The wheel is a little rough, (minus the star) I feel the gearing as I rotate it, but its not a deal breaker. All in all, I am very happy with this mouse and believe it should last me a couple years, but if it doesn't, no big deal, because the cost was very low. Had this mouse for almost two years: Sill works great. Nothing worn.

Perfect for the price
For the price, this is a perfect mouse. I would compare it to the Logitech M100/B100 in terms of feel, overall size, and weight. These no nonsense, plug and use mice are more reliable and more comfortable than wireless mice. When a mouse requires batteries, it tends to affect the wrists after long usage. Not this mouse. Light, comfortable for any size hand (maybe not really large). Not quite as comfortable as the Logitech M100 but it's right there. It looks better though. The one issue (not really an issue) is the cord thickness. It has a thick non-braided cord that may get in the way or drag a lot. However, it also may indicate longer usage. Overall, solid mouse. I'm a hug gamer with so mane mice. For long usage for non-gaming, the cheap reliable mice like this is what you're looking for.

Good Mouse....
Having used MS mice over the years, I wasn't sure how well this mouse work for me. I had to finally replace a MS Optical Mouse Blue that I had been using on a Win Vista system. (Driver 7.0 MS.) I noted this seemed the way to go. (I had replaced the same MS Optical Mouse Blue on my top Win 7 system with a MS Optical Mouse 3000 and was very happy with it even though the extra button sometimes got in the way.) Anyway, I really didn't know what to expect. I got it in and, after installing it. (This was easy. One word, this is a USB mouse and if you still have an older MB, like me, you will need an USB to PS2 adapter if you plan on using the PS2 mouse port as this mouse doesn't come with one like my old Optical Blue did.) At any rate, since the 7.0 MS mouse driver covers a number of mice it was easy to match this new mouse to the driver and changing the mouse support. (This mouse doesn't come with a driver disk either BTW.) After getting the installation items out of the way, I checked it out. This mouse sits a bit higher off the mouse pad than the old Optical Blue but not so much that you would noticed it. It's smaller, but still fits the hand very well. I buttons feels good to the touch and responsive when clicked and don't feel "iffy" in any way. I noted this mouse seem more responsive to movement across the screen than my older mouse and that's more than like due to the faster response rate over my old one. It has a smaller foot print on the mouse pad and that's really nice if you have limited space available like I do. Overall, I couldn't any thing to fault this mouse on, other than the lack of an adapter and driver disk and both of these were minor things. A very good mouse for the price!

by far the best wired mouse
I've been using these mice for decades. Can't beat the straight-forward ergonomics, simplicity, performance, and durability. This is my "go to" mouse for any computer.

Works great if you have tiny hands
Electronically this is an excellent mouse. It is very responsive and easy to use if you have small hands. For anyone with hands that are at all large it is so narrow in size that it is uncomfortable to move around. My hands are not that much larger than most other people and I'm going to order something else as a replacement.
