How to Use & Wash Manipur Pottery Utensils:
• Before you start cooking food in Longpi/Manipur pottery utensils, wash it gently with water.
• After you finish cooking, allow the utensil to come back to room temperature. Wash it with water and mild detergent and scrub gently with soft sponge or scotch brite.
• In case of difficult stains, fill the utensil with water and let the water stand in it for 10 mins allowing the stains to soften. Proceed to wash it with mild detergent and scrub the stains gently with scotch brite or soft sponge.
• Utensils are best washed as soon as possible, as clay which is one of the ingredients of Longpi / Manipur Pottery has a tendency to retain the smell and stains of its content if left inside for long time.
• Use wooden spatula for the utensil.
• Avoid using iron scrubber on Longpi/Manipur Pottery utensils.
• No curing or priming required for Longpi/Manipur Pottery utensils.
• Fire-resistant pottery due to the use of Serpentine rock.
• Multipurpose – used on an open flame, in the microwave and is also dishwasher safe.
• The pots/pans are good for simmering and slow cooking for hours over a low flame,
homogenizing and condensing meat and lentils. The contents continue to sizzle for a long time after it is taken off the heat, ensuring that the food continues to remain hot.
CAUTION:
• Due to its stone content, Longpi/Manipur Pottery utensils tend to get hot when cooking. The same should be handled with care.
