Wonderful, thoughtful and full of kindness.
Such a wonderful book. A thoughtful story with beautiful illustrations. I have a copy and have bought copies for friends who are in need of a metaphoric hug.

Every home should have at lease one copy, it has & will save lives
I W ENGLAND No just no!!Every single thing from the teacup stain and his dog stepping on a page but he left it in with a footnote. As for the review posted by profile I W ENGLANDโs Iโm appalled and shocked. Charlie Mackesy is an artist and illustrator but not an author he admits that himself.Charlie is a once in a lifetime artist look at his work with Nelson Mandela goes for tens of thousands but we are here for the most stunning piece of craftsmanship with different interpretations every time you read it.Itโs about life and we all live one and have trouble along the way. She should read it hundreds of times if not thousands, because life is always changing for the positive & negative this book grounds you gives you a slap across the face and literally how we should overcome and live happily.I W ENGLAND. You should be ashamed especially after giving a pop up book about prehistoric animals, which looks like the long gone animals painted themselves or Ray Charles. There maybe a few platitudes but what what book doesnโt even William Shakespeare used them and invented many we still use today, but again heโs and illustrator google him find videos and he says it himself. But even worse your statement about if you were emotionally low and read it could make you worse could be looked as libel defamation. I know many people itโs help and saved a life (my own) itโs always close by.She used words like pithy which is actually creative writing which communicates a lot in fewer words & for illustrator is fantastic. Vacuous weak sentiment are all pretty much the same and saying no substance at al, itโs full of substance it even has Munter and Straff musical notes on inside front and back page.I suggest she reads it once a week I guarantee Charlie will bet she wonโt love it after that time.Itโs not talking about getting home it even says at the end home is not always a place. But if we are talking places it has placed 1st since release in 2018 from someone that draws you do better.Oh and these are not your average illustrations they are incredibleThank you Charlie youโve save my life and more ignore her just look at the evidence onlineI read it to my 6 year old niece and she takes it with herPaint is mightier than the pen & swordThank youJ

Beautiful book with absolutely gorgeous illustrations. I heard someone mention this book so immediately went onto Amazon and when I saw how many 5* reviews I ordered it for my daughter to read to my grandson. When it arrived the quality of the book was stunning and the writing and illustrations stunning also definately a great purchase.

What an exceptional reading experience!
I'm not even going to try and give a synopsis of the story contained within this wonderful book, because I think this book's strength lies in its ability to subtly surprise and delight the reader at each turn of the page. You know, I have probably read in excess of a thousand books in my 64 years on earth, but I have never before been emotionally moved in the same way as I was by reading The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse. What makes this story so very special is the way the author has tied in a simple narrative with naively-drawn 'characters' that together form a magical combination, which takes the reader on an unforgettable life journey. This book left me feeling uplifted, and I couldn't help but feel somewhat enriched by the time I had reluctantly turned that last page.I appreciate that many people these days live very busy lives, and even during times away from work/business/study commitments, they have their minds preoccupied by other things, including the 'distractions' of their electronic devices etc. Such individuals would say that, much as they would like to, they just haven't got the time or patience to spend several hours with a book. Well, the good news for those folk is that with this book you can dip in and out of it at your leisure. Or, you can find a spare hour, like I did (on Christmas Day) and read it from cover to cover. To conclude: this is one of those books that everyone (from children to middle-aged adults) should have in their collection. It's one of those super story's that can be read and enjoyed many times over. It's also something that would make a lovely gift to a book- lover, but would equally be treasured and enjoyed by those who consider themselves to be non-readers. I highly recommend The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse. So grab yourself a copy at your earliest convenience, slowly turn those delightful pages, digest it's simple message, and I almost guarantee you'll feel a better person for having done so. And remember, in regard to reading: It's not about how many books you go through, its about how many books go through you. Thanks for reading my review, I enjoyed writing it, and hope it has been of use. ๐๐= ๐
