Saved my fan from the dumpster! (And $80 for a new one)
I have a 20-inch Lasko Wind machine fan, and it started to hum when turned on. I had to manually spin start the blade to get it to run. It became worse and worse over time. I saw on YouTube that the start capacitor can be replaced so I purchased this pair. I just cut the wires on the old one and soldered this one in its place. It even mounted to the original mounting bracket (with a longer screw). The fan works like new on all speeds. Sounds like an airplane again :)

They work fine for ceiling fans
Make sure you check the value of the capacitor in advance before ordering. Look at the value in uFd (microfarads) as it determines how long the field coil is energized during motor-start. You want to somewhat match that value to what was originally there. These are good capacitors (I am an electrical engineer) and work fine for my Hunter ceiling fans.

Saved me $100
I used this on a large electric fan that would run but very slowly. I thought it was bearings but it turned very freely so I googled around and learned that these capacitors help the fan go fast and sometimes they die. It was and is again a hundred dollar fan so for the money this was worth a try AND IT WORKED.

Nice parts
This is exactly the parts I needed and I got it quickly.

Too big for the intended fix
Both caps were tested to be within electrical specifications, but turned out to be too large to fit in the fan. Woops.

Worked perfectly to revive my Sony TC-458 reel to reel motor
Tested before installing and within spec. Works great in my reel to reel replacing a 50 year old start/run motor "can" capacitor.Would buy again!

HUGE !!!
These things are more than twice the size of 400 uf capacitor they were purchased to replace and will not fit into the fan housing. I guess it is my fault was not verifying the dimensions.Length: 48mm (1.89 inches)Height: 33mm (1.30 inches)Depth: 19mm (0.75 inches)

Fairly good value.
A little larger then the one that I was replacing. Fit ok. Did not solve my problem. Seems to be a bad motor.
