What a welcome relief.
This item presented itself in the midst of a search for items focusing on stretching the back/spine and assisting with posture. Although it seemed unrelated I am very glad I followed my impulse to look at and then purchase it. Although wearing it does take some adjusting to (it felt uncomfortable and unnatural at first), within fifteen minutes of wearing it on the foot with the bunion I could feel the effect it was having all the way up to my hip. The joints of my toes, the ball of my foot, my knee, my hip joint, and my lower spine all began realigning simply because I had created space between my big toe and the toe next to it! Then I remembered how my chiropractor/physical therapist (whom I visit for maintenance purposes versus injury or illness) reacts whenever I tell her “my knee is tweaked” or “my hip feels out of alignment”—the first thing she does is go for my feet to begin adjusting and manipulating the bones and joints. I have been using this protector for two and a half days now and the difference is remarkable. I can certainly tell my body is reacting favorably to the difference it is creating. A few pointers that might assist you:1. I only wore one the first day, on the foot with the bunion. I wore both of them the second day just to see if it might make a difference and have been able to determine that wearing the second one isn’t necessary for me. That foot doesn’t need it.2. If your big toe has been out of alignment as long as mine has it is likely going to resist the repositioning. What that means is the big toe presses against the portion of the protector between your two toes and your second toe bears the pressure of both your toe and the protector pressing into it as your big toe attempts to fall back into what has become a natural position. After two days, however, my weight is distributed more naturally on the ball of my foot, which means my leg, hip and spine are better aligned as well. Subsequently, my foot is becoming stronger and more naturalized while in the adjusted position.3. A very useful step to take, which I wish I had thought of initially, is to get some plastic medical tape and wrap a strip around your second toe before putting the protector on (I use clear plastic Nexcare medical tape because it is breathable, it is a high quality tape that doesn’t slip after being applied, and it doesn’t show through pantyhose or nylons). Using medical tape in this way will protect the skin of your second toe from being abraded or rubbed raw by the protector (due to the pressure being exerted by your big toe). I am just shy of developing a blister so tomorrow I am going to put a bandage on my second toe while that heals and then wrap medical tape around the bandage to protect my toe from further abrading. (FYI: I use this medical tape solution on any area of my foot where a shoe or boot tends to rub my skin. It is amazing how effective this is. Simply by adding a strip of medical tape where needed, I can now wear shoes and boots I would not be able to wear otherwise due to the blisters or rawness they cause while wearing them. I recommend trying this to see if it works for you too. Just don’t use lotion before applying the tape. When applied on clean dry skin a good quality medical tape is very adhesive and won’t slip from any friction created by pressure or rubbing from your footwear. I’ve forgotten the tape was on my foot at times and suddenly discover it the next day, which has stayed firmly in place even after showering!)

Too tight and then to big
This product can't really do what it claims. It's pretty tight at first and then after you wear it awhile it stretches out

Total Life Changer!!!
My bunions started later in life but came on with a vengeance. I was in a ton of pain and thought that I'd have to wear sneakers for the rest of my life. Then someone told me about these bunion shields and literally, as soon as I started wearing them, my pain disappeared. It's been 13 months since I started to use them. If I don't wear them, the pain starts to come back. But they fit into most of my shoes.Yes, they do tear, but I am so grateful that I have a solution to my bunion pain that I don't care so much that they tear. I ended up spending about $120 on these bunion shields in one year. So what! This is nothing to pay for the pain relief that they provide. Additionally, my bunions have not gotten any worse since I started using the shields, which is amazing. It was awful to watch my feet become deformed and not be able to stop the process. Now, I'm back in the drivers seat and have stopped the deformation from continuing.I have a friend who says that these bunion shields actually reversed her bunions. I haven't experienced this yet...but I am thrilled for the pain relief and for the ability to wear normal shoes again! BTW, it takes a couple of weeks to get used to wearing them. But within one month, I got so used to them that I hardly even feel them. A huge thank you to Dr. Rogo!!

Like them
I love these. I do not have extremely large bunions but these do the trick. The first few days they really hurt but I could tell it was because they were working. Product comes in a small plastic bag with the logo- nothing fancy no instructions or care instructions.Only reason I gave a four was because the material seems to be hard to clean. Dirt sticks it to, dog hair, its frustrating. But otherwise I love them.My mom tried them on her bunion that she already had but is currently inflamed with gout and she didn't like them. My dad who has bunions too tried them on and liked. I am in my early 20's and trying to prevent my bunion surgery until much later in life. Best of luck to the rest of the bunion clan.**Will update with photos and once these fall apart.

Super flat feel and her big toes are turning in ...
I bought these for my 13yr old daughter. Super flat feel and her big toes are turning in and bunions are forming. Aside from orthotics and chiropractor there isn't much to be done for a young girl. She dances ballet and as she had shoes fit for her, they suggested a toe separator for alignment. We bought 2 pair, one for ballet and one for home use. But they fall out pretty easily because they aren't attached to anything. That's when we saw these. She wears them to sleep in and when she is bumming around the house. They stay in very nicely. She likes the feeling of having her toes in alignment so we are pleased. It's only been a week, so we haven't seen correction, but at her young age it at least could prevent the bunion from becoming worse.

Definitely Provides Relief
For me, it provided some relief, but with side effects. Specifically, the part that loops over the big toe eventually felt very tight and became painful. Granted, I'm a Marine Corps Drill Instructor and I wear heavy boots and am on my feet for 16+ hours a day, so I gave it four stars because I believe it would work great for an individual with a more normal day-to-day routine. My bunion is a severe one and my podiatrist recommended I continue to wear this "brace" after I get corrective surgery in order to prevent the bunion from coming back.Side note, keep these away from your pets. For whatever reason, my cats are obsessed with playing with it and my dog chewed one of them up.
