Max: A Maximum Ride Novel

With the disappointment of The Final Warning this book brought the series back on track. I hope the rest of the book in the series continue to be as epic as Max. I was hesitant about buying the next book because Final Warning was a huge bore! But I read some reviews and most people seemed to think that this book was really good so I decided to get it.I finished this book in about 3 days and I read on the fast side. But I easily could have finished it in one sitting because Maximum Ride is so addicting sometimes you can't stop and before you know it you finished reading a 300 page book! Max isn't too long or too short! It's long enough to contain a great story but not so long that your tired of reading it!There was plenty of humor in this book! With Max and her sarcasm and Gazzy & Iggy with their bombs and explosives!!!! Very funny you might end up laughing out loud in the middle of reading this!It was action packed adventure all the way through! (Tiny Spoilers! BEWARE!) In the last book the plot was super boring and repetitive (ex. Max and the flock get kidnapped by a demented scientist, then they escape) but this plot was super awesome. First of all, it all took place in the ocean which I thought was really cool. new characters were introduced, villains and good guys.the climax was different and interesting. Max's mom got kidnapped by Mr.Chu and Max along with some other navy people get on a submarine and go searching for her under the ocean. Max saves her mom and the story ends with a major cliffhanger involving Brigid and Mr. ChuFor romance lovers you won't be disappointed either! :D

It was just like the other books in one way and that is that it is AWESOME👍I enjoy these books so much. It is action packed, funny, romantic, and a book that puts me on the edge of my chair! 😃😍

The idea of kids with superpowers should be terrifying. It’s not, or at least not in this series. This novel manages to have comic book imagery without being a graphic novel. Imagine six-year old Angel with her beautiful wings and gills flying gracefully or swimming in the ocean. Imagine the fashion conscious Nudge. I keep getting beautiful images of these children at times like when they have a water balloon fight. The author manages to weave in lessons abut the dangers facing planet Earth and how important it is to save it and ourselves. The message is subtle and the book stays enjoyable. It has been too long since I read the last book in the series, so it took me a minute to catch up with the bird kids and their dog, Total. The kids now have gills so they can survive under water as well as in the sky and Total now has wings. Cool. But they keep developing new powers to cope with each danger. Is that playing fair with readers who expect characters to cope with what they already have - even if what they have are super powers. Maybe the kids already have too many super powers. It’s hard to keep track of them all. I even have to take notes on the characters. Iggy is blind; Gasman is handy with bombs. Fang is Max’s love interest, and Angel is evolving faster than the others. Total the dog has a crush on a pure bred Akita. I loved the part where the U.S. Navy tried to teach the kids basic training. After what these kids have been through in the novels so far, there isn’t much more about survival that they can learn. Tough survival instructors got a lesson from a six year old. The flock always seem more than up to whatever dangers that face them.

I purchased the entire James Patterson Max series for my 12 year old grand daughter who could not put the first book down, went to the library to get her hands on the second one, so I got her the entire series, even the ones she had already read, because she loves the series and will keep them even as an adult. I taught her how to read years ago and now we are running out of space to keep her book collection. We might have to try Kindle next! Great series with little to no gooey romance or inappropriate language or scenes. I was comfortable to give these books to her.

I loved this book in the series just as much as the others. I love the new things happening to Max and the others, especially Angel and Max and Fang, but I get a kick out of Iggy and Gazzy's hijinx as well. I won't bore you with a plot summary as other reviewers are fond of doing that. Max continues to grow in this novel, as they all do, in more ways than one. The few surprises in this novel are somewhat deductable, but they're still fun. Even amid the action, it's very lighthearted with a few spots of teen angst this time, showing how Max is growing up with the rest of the flock. If you liked the previous novels in the series, give this one a shot. I don't think you'll regret it.

I really like how strong these characters are written and how being together can unite a powerful family into defending innocent people of the cruel world that they live in.

This book was amazing and it was the best so far in this series!! Anyone who likes adventure, scientific fiction, and a little romance would love this series and this book. If you are looking for just a great book in particular, this series is also really good. I highly recommend it. Hope this helps for the bookworms out there!

Its a great series! Definitely recommend to young teens to dive right into. The book is in great shape, no damage to the book whatsoever when it was delivered!
