I purchased and installed this 3+ years ago when it ...
I purchased and installed this 3+ years ago when it was a Goodyear Branded Product. It was installed on a Avalanche 2500 with an 8.1 engine. There are several blogs about that configuration developing a rhythmic squeaking while the engine runs. The squeak doesn't go away at any RPM. I checked and changed idlers, checked alternator bearings, diagnosed the water pump, used different brand serpentine belts, etc. Nothing fixed it. I ran across a blog (don't recall the web site) where others had this problem. One suggested this belt as it solved their problem. I ordered this belt and "Voila!". No more squeaking. There are no signs of cracking or wear at it's age ( I only drive this truck about 4500 miles a year). I carry an extra belt in all of my vehicles. I will buy this again when the current one wears out.

Amazing Belt!
This belt is amazing. I had problems with a squeaking noise on my 1994 Checy Truck for quite some time. I've tried several different brand of belts. Also replaced multiple pulleys + tensioner to no avail. I finally read on a forum to use Goodyear Gatorbacks to get rid of the squeak. I was skeptical at first until I received the belt and put it on my truck. Halelujah! it works, no more squeaking sound from under the hood. I'm considering buying another just as a spare back-up

Great belt, no difference noted as a re-branded product
I bought this for a Chevy 1991 C1500 5.7/350ci with A/C, but without a smog pump and the fit is the same. No difference and no issues. The Continental Elite is the same as the ex-Goodyear Gatorback and still the same product, Goodyear sold their belts and hose manufacturing to Continental of DE a few years back.I have used the Goodyear Gatorback's in the past as well as Gates belts and I have gotten more life out the Goodyear vs. the Gates.I did notice that Amazon fit statement says it won't fit my truck, but this is not correct in my cases and would probably apply to California vehicles that require smog pumps, which mine does not have.If not sure, use a known belt P/N and one of the manufacture sites for conversion and proper fitment. Take note of your accessories such as AC and emission requirements (smog pumps etc).Example: My original belt was a ACDelco # 6K956 which clearly states the following: With Air Conditioner, but without Air/Smog Pump. Converts to Continental P/N 4060955.

only fix for squeaky 8.1L
have two 2004 3/4 ton suburbans, both with the 8.1L for towing. Both had squeaky belts. Tried belt dressing, new tensioner, new idlers, new Day co belts and nothing worked! Researched it and put these gator backs on both burbs and now they are perfectly quite. Before they sounded like a couple of dolphins trying to communicate with each other, now they behave. This one fit my stock 145A alternator perfectly! Buy the gator back and listen to the quite.

Price is great but the material is average
Goodyear came in sealed and manufacter box. The price was extremely great !!! The product is made with quiet design to be quiet but obvious very thin compared to my old Doorman/Dayco style belt those were the thick heavy duty type belt but when not oiled or very cold I would get that screeching belt noise and can hear it Turing the pulleys so if your worried about noise then get Gator belt if you want that extreme heavy duty don't get as this belt will last but not as long as the Dayco/Doorman gator belts are probably made of good rubber about 1/2 inch thick but the Dayco belt is about 3/4 thick. Price and material is your descions. These are so inexpensive that I can change out every 2/3 years if needed.

MY SQUEAK STOPPED
I have owned my 01 Chevy Silverado 2500HD LT 8.1L for about 3 years now and it has alyways have this high pitched chip/squeak. My friend and I replaced every pulley we could, also the alternator and swore that the chirp would stop. It never stopped and would immediately stop as soon as I put some water on the bottom of the belt. I noticed this belt in a YouTube review and what do you know, there is no more chirp. THIS PRODUCT WORKS =-)

Fits my 1992 chevy truck set up
This will the 90s model chevy trucks set serpentine belt belt drive system. I don't know about any other chevy set up. Bit if you have a chevy truck with aluminum brackets and the set up in my pictures, then it should work with your set up. I have yet to see the performance of this belt, I'll give updates as I use this belt on my truck, that's why I only gave 1 star on longevity and durability. The engine is a 350 SBC.
