Good but Houston we have a problem...
Well I bought e refurbished console thinking it be better than a used one and rival a new one at a lower price...worked fine until 2weeks ago when cooling fan failed and now console won't stay on, which is fine because safety routine working to protect console. I got almost 1.5 yr out of it before issue with fan. By comparison my 360 sat idle same amt of time and fired up, had it almost 10 yes only issue w it is a dirty laser lens in CD drive. No mechanical issues from 360elite in 10yrs. I know the 1 is better and more capable, but seems like its not as durable. For all the tech and safe guards built in its down due to a faulty fan, that made noise from day one of ownership. So I advise you research carefully, not a knock on Amazon or partners, but units go bad and sometimes the refurbs aren't overhauled and checked fully. You never know until you get it so my advice is due some research new vs used vs refurbished. I bought console for $282 refurbished 500gb, the fan and tools run $28, power block $37(thought that was issue), then bought a used 1tb w gm bundle for $224(before I realized 500gb was overheating) to replace my 500gb console that I thought I lost to drive failure. I'll keep old one after I refurbish it again but point is if you get a warranty take it, Microsoft call agents aren't much help as they read a scripted routine and reset console attempts don't fix all problems. Don't get me wrong I love the consoles graphics and capabilities just wish Microsoft put more effort into quality parts instead of rushing to market to make huge profits at holiday season.

If I could give 1 star…
I do not recommend buying this item. The listing stated it was 500GB, which was one of the main reasons I paid this price, but after checking the system it only showed about 352GB available. That is not what was advertised. The console also does not work properly for online gaming. Games and online features are not working correctly, and I have not been able to reliably join friends or family online. The seller stated that the console was turned on and tested, but based on my experience, it does not function the way it should. The seller has also been unreasonable and unprofessional during this process. This has been a waste of time and money, and now I have to deal with returning it safely. I would recommend buying directly from a trusted seller or getting an Xbox Series S/X instead of purchasing this item.

Awesome!
I wanted to make sure I wrote something about this because I hesitated for a few weeks before buying. It has a lot of mixed reviews but I have nothing but good things to say about it. Packaging was great— console was wrapped up nice and secure with tons of bubble wrap and tape (it was actually kind of a pain getting it out) everything advertised was included (console, controller, wires) and in great shape. The power box thing (?) has been a little noisy at times but nothing too concerning. It’s frozen up momentarily a couple times but it’s an older used console so I expected some minor issues, but all in all it’s been worth the money.

Exactly what we wanted, works perfectly!
I'm happy to report that this was exactly what we wanted: a second Xbox One that works as well as the one we bought a couple of years ago, without having to pay for a new one. Not only was it perfectly functional, but the vendor boxed it with its original controller, cables, power supply, and headset using an original used Xbox One product box. It was shipped promptly and actually got to us 3 days sooner than estimated. Aesthetically, the controller was clean, the headset looked new, and the wear on the machine casing was minimal (I made a little extra effort to shine up the outer surfaces). Electronically, it seems perfect: I just plugged it in, stepped through the initial setup, and started playing!

And enjoy when I see innovation in technology What the console ...
Disclaimer : I have had the console for 1 week as of the time of this review, I've owned ljust about every major video game console since the 64. And enjoy when I see innovation in technology What the console does good : even though the console is from a technical standpoint inferior to the PS4 it still looks very sharp, and experiences no trouble loading a game or other such simple tasks. Everything else : unfortunately that's where it ends and a polotgyst of disappointments begin, the Controller... While it feels great in the hand.. People we are in 2015 and I get a controller with a standard battery pack and no charger, that's outlandish, the 360 came with one and at least the original came with wires so you didn't have to worry about charging it! Although I'll give it some credit the controller has lasted a decent amount of time in the 20-25 hours I've spent playing (keep in mind this is not the fault of the vendor, I checked on Microsoft website to ensure this was what would normally come with the xbox one and this is the same as what they would provide.) Next the aesthetically difference, while it does look glossy on one half of the console it's huge, it looks like a VCR I actually had my father ask me why I bought a VCR lol That being said I do understand that Microsoft was attempting to alleviate any further ring of death style problems with plenty of vent space, that being said Sony PS4 has a much nicer more futuristic design with more processing power and has had not problems with heating, and looks much nicer in my opinion, this could just be me though The kinect..... Oh dear Microsoft I understand you were under different management during the initial realise of the console... Especially since you can clearly tell Microsoft newer approach to the consumer however some old mistakes still Haun the xbox one, what I mean by this is that by choosing to not purchase the kinect your loosing out on an absurd amount of features that are integrated into the consoles software, like voice activation and Skype, it's not that these features are bad per say, but I don't particularly appreciate having to buy a superlative glorified video camera to use these features on my already high priced console. You can clearly Tell that the One and the kinect were built for each other.. That relationship has been pretty one sided if you ask me lol Finally the storage, so with one update and three games I'm down to 267 gb out of a supposed 500, but you'll initially loose about 75 gb on updates alone, so be prepared to either by the 1tb which I should have done, or to buy some external hard drives, cause that space will go quickly. I understand that due to the I crease in graphical capabilities games will naturally be bigger to incorporate all the data necessary for such stunning games to exist, but in my opinion Microsoft should have released the console with 1tb, same thing for the PS4 and don't even get me started on Nintendo mesealy 32 gb option lol that being said I also understand that it's all clever marketing to sell more consoles in the future, brilliant for the company, disappointing and frustrating for the consumer All this being said the console runs great I here virtually no noise from itit, start up times are quick, and the software is alright but that's just it, it's a good console where it could have been a great console... I recommend this model if your looking for a cheaper option, however be prepared to loose some functionality without the kinect, if you can afford it then I recommend waiting on the 1tb version bundles you'll get much more for your money but without a bundle the don't bother. simply buy an external hard drive which is a great fix for the cheaper model down the line once you aquire the necessary funds as well, So their you have it an okay console due to hinderences taking away from its ability to be great

Refurbished? It started having problems after a few days!
UPDATED: I wrote an earlier review about the good, now I'm writing about the bad. This unit started running slow. How slow? I'm typing this review while waiting for the settings screen to come up. That's how slow. Constant error messages of this screen/feature took too long to load etc... I'm having to do a factory reset today just to get it back to working. That means all the save info will be lost. I'd have to say this is not a good deal. In fact it's a terrible deal if they are all like this one! This product is listed as refurbished! I can't tell you what they did but it looks brand new. Not a scratch, still had all the plastic packing cover that you have to remove. It works perfectly. It took a long time to download the updates but that's not a fault because I was downloading on election day so it was the internet that was the problem. I will say that coming from PlayStation3 this is a huge improvement! I wish now I'd gone with XBox from the beginning. I play an older game that has digital add-ons. The one for XBox has more content and better features. Add to that the backward compatibility and this is a much better deal. I have to say based on my whole experience that if I buy the next XBox, I'll jump at the chance to get a refurbished from this seller as it is the same as new and less expensive!
