MADDesign Mother of Pearl Lacquered Jewelry Box Two Level Cranes (Purple)

Purchased as a gift and it was received in perfect condition and is still being enjoyed as such.

It looks exactly like the picture. Keep in mind, it looks big in the picture, but it's only a jewelry box. It's well made, the metal parts are aligned properly, it closes flush and latches. The finish was clear and shiny without any scratches or marks, and it looks beautiful. It's not perfect mind you, the clear finish is a little thick and a bit lumpy as if it was sprayed or painted on in one go rather than slowly layered. It would certainly have a better finish if they layered on the clear coat, so I took a star from craftsmanship. However, a mother of pearl lacquer box of this size of this quality is still an exceptional deal at this price, and this is a beautiful box. All in all, the finish isn't horrible; but if perfection is important to you, I doubt you'll find what you're hoping for in this price range.

In a fun bit of Christmas kismet, our granddaughter asked for a jewelry box after I'd already ordered this one. When she opened her gift she shrieked with delight! I don't think she expected anything remotely so beautifully crafted. She especially loved the mother-of-pearl inlay birds on the top...once I explained what "mother-of-pearl" actually is (the opalescent inner layer of certain shells) -- I think she thought it was something made by a girl's mother! She loved all the little compartments, and immediately told us where she'd keep which jewelry. A wonderful keepsake present for more refined 11-year-olds. Five Stars.

The media could not be loaded. Not really big enough for all of my big jewelry, the top compartment is a little small and the drawers are pretty small too. But the box is gorgeous, so Imma keep it and put my small stuff in there.

It is even more beautiful than pictured, it'sabsolutely stunning! Wonderful artistry and workmanship. If you're thinking about buying it, think no more! It's totally worth it. And, ladies, if you're buying it for someone else, buy two because you will have to keep it once you hold it in your hands.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Item is beautiful but useless because the top won’t stay on ! Four of the screws that hold the lid on the top were missing ! I found three in the packing box and when I tried to screw them in the would not stay they were stripped . I’m so disappointed. A bad design ? I wanted so much to like this box

My wife bought me this jewelry box as a Christmas gift. I was amazed at the beauty and wonderful workmanship. I was absolutely thrilled!

The add shows different dimensions. At first it shows a box that is 18 INCHES long, but when it shows up it is only 18 CENTIMETERS long. This gives you a box that is 2.5 times smaller than it lists. It went out as a Xmas gift, so how can you ask for it back for a return if you gave it 200 miles away as a gift? I am disappointed that Amazon let this advertisement be posted with such a deceiving description.
