Just a lit Keyboard
I have had this keyboard since March of 2010. I considered some of the gaming boards before this and I am glad I decided on this one from Logitech.I am not a keyboard connoisseur; I have always gone with the ones offered from the manufacturers. I do not play games on my computer, or ones that require macros anyway. I would think that if that is what you want you will not even be looking at this review. I can say that this keyboard does exactly what I want it to do, makes reading my keyboard a little easier in dark situations. It also had something I did not expect, a great feel! It is soft, quiet, and believe it or not, I find the fact that it is so thin and flat that it makes typing easier! One of the reviews I read said that the keyboard should not be listed as an ergonomic keyboard. I guess if you are accustomed to one of those split boards from Microsoft then this would seem unaccommodating. I personally find this to be the best keyboard that I have owned. It has served me well and I like it. Some have complained of the key blocking issue with this board. I am not that good a typist! I probably type about 45 to 50 words per minute, and closer to 35 words per minute spelled correctly. I hit a lot of keys in producing my typing and I am not very efficient. I have never had a key blocking issue at all. So if you are super typist you may want to read some other reviews due to the fact that I am not that great!Logitech does a very good job of making this thing seem nice, like they do all of their products, right out of the box! The keyboard is laid out in a nice, presentable box. When you plug it in to the USB it just lights up and looks great! I installed the software and it gives you some flexibility in making all the buttons work on it. It can do a lot of functions like a basic multimedia keyboard should. The letters and characters are all easy to read due to their block style. I am amazed at how classy and nice this thing makes my computer desk look. It really is that good. I thought at one point of purchasing one of the other keyboards that has multiple colors and can go from blue, to red, to amber. I can tell you that the white looks nice. I really wanted blue to begin with, but after having this the plain white makes sense. If Logitech wanted to change something I would suggest that they add the keyboard in different colors, or give the board the ability to change colors.I find the light is not overwhelming; it is bright enough for it to do what you need it to do. To sum it up nicely it is not the kids' game-playing keyboard, it is simply a business man's keyboard. It does the job quickly, quietly, and sufficiently to be deemed a very good product by me. I can hardly believe I am even writing a review of something as mundane as a keyboard!

For typists, look no further...
Once again, few of the items I buy rate five stars. But I've gotten TWO of these things and have the next ordered to replace the one I have - several YEARS from now in case they stop making them by then.To give you folks a little background, I write.A lot.I have finished over 30 books, published 14 (and counting) type 120+ WPM (so fast, WIRELESS keyboards can't keep up with me) and probably write a million or two words each year. I have worn out 30 lesser keyboards in less than 20 years. And I'm picky as HELL about my keyboards. I prefer the flat, "laptop" scissors-style because they are responsive and have a very short pressing distance (when you consider that a million or two words means your fingers are traveling tens of miles all by themselves, a short throw is essential to keep me typing instead of investing in ice and Ben Gay) that allows me to type a lot more without traveling a whole lot more.In any event, I bought one of these through (another vendor Amazon won't let me mention) about five years ago. Keep in mind that before this one, my buying a replacement keyboard was a semiannual thing. Reliably, every six months, I'd wear one out. For fifteen years, I'd buy a new keyboard about every six months. (The old mechanical keyboards I used back in the day were fine, but I found myself hating the noise and the fatigue of using one, which led me to flat-keys like this one). This keyboard was the first that had lasted longer than six months. It lasted four years. That's roughly 7-8 MILLION WORDS. (I write about 2000-12000 words a day, depending on my mood, how much time I have and what I have to say/write.) Even if you consider that some flat-key keyboards cost about $15.00, the cost of buying one every six months became onerous. And after a few years, that adds up (Yes, I'm a cheap S.O.B.).So back then when I bought one from (Amazon won't let me say, so I won't), it was a leap of faith. And it paid off GIGANTICALLY.Least I be accused as being a shill for Logitech, I'll refrain from gushing. I will simply say that when Logitech stops making these (and they will) and if they don't offer a better one (which they may not, sadly to say) and if I didn't have the foresight to buy a new one, that will be the day I start cannibalizing my old Logitech Illuminated keyboards to make a whole one that works well (I saved the previous one, and will save each one I buy). The typing is QUIET, smooth, FAST and you can SEE what you're typing. I CAN touch-type, but I prefer to see where my fingers are going (you never know with fingers, after all). The illumination is GREAT because it's not some silk-screened nonsense that rubs off. The keyboard is heavy enough to stay in place, low enough to fit into places mechanical keyboards don't dare to go, and cleaning is relatively easy with a little canned air and a toothbrush. (Cleaning it often is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for best performance.)So, gushing aside, if you are looking for a wired, illuminated keyboard that will be around for the 2020 elections, look no further than this one. I can't give it a higher recommendation. This is absolutely THE BEST KEYBOARD EVER MADE for general typing. I can't attest to its use for gaming (I use a game pad for that), but given its durability, it will likely work very well. (I can't say if it's more durable than a dedicated gaming keyboard, though, so keep that in mind.)For ME no other keyboard made by ANYONE even comes close. That the highest accolade I ever give for ANYTHING.
