Works at 2560x1600 on Dell 3007WFP
Update 12/10/2019: Every once in a while, the screen on the adapter changes resolution to 1280x800. Go to the NVIDIA panel and it reports THAT is the native resolution. There may be an easier work-around, but I found unplugging the adapter from all three connections and then reconnecting restores the 2560x1600 resolution without having to reboot. Not ideal, but not too painful.I searched far and wide for this solution. I guess a 10-year-old monitor is like a TRS-80 or a Commodore 64 these days.It showed up a day early. I just plugged it in and it worked.I tried the VisionTek Dual Link Active (not USB powered) adapter and it did not work above 1280x720 or something like that (I don't remember exactly). I tried everything. Anything above 1280x720 just displayed weird strips of color.I now have two Dell 3007WFPs and one Dell U3011 running off one GTX 1070: - U3011: DP cable - 3007-1: DVI cable - 3007-2: This adapter and DVI cableIt has only been running about ten minutes and so far no ill effects whatsoever.I will test it further and change my review up or down accordingly. My upgrade path is to one RTX2070 to take advantage of the Tensor cores for Machine Learning code development. I will check into this review again to comment on whether I can run my three monitors on an RTX2070 with two of these adapters. As a mostly unrelated comment, I had all three monitors running just fine until six months ago on two GTX 560 Ti's. One finally died after years of faithful service. The other is still kicking like a champ. I added a GTX 1070 and ran them together without any problems (all DVI ports). On the rare occasion I play a game (War Thunder) it runs a heck of a lot faster on the 1070. Enter Machine Learning, Python libraries that use CUDA cores, etc. and come to find out my driver is really old (391.35). Load "GE Force Experience", and it tells me I need a driver update. So I do it. Epic fail. Weird buzzing noise, screens go haywire, hard crash. Can't boot and so forth. Had to mess around for a couple hours just to figure out how to boot (pull 560, downgrade driver...or...turns out safemode, downgrade driver works too). Reason: The GTX 560 is at max driver level already. The 1070, obviously, much later. Stupid GE Force Experience! No way to load two separate drivers. No way to use the 1070 6.1 CUDA Compute Capability without loading the later drivers... so here we are. Gotta get rid of the 560. :(

Will allow you to run 144hz through Display Port
You got a GPU that doesn't have DVI ports? Got the BenQ XL2411Z monitor? Then you might want to get this, and look to upgrade your monitor in the future. This will allow you to run 144hz on your monitor, but there will be a faint blue-tinted aliasing effect on anywhere there's a color change. This makes dark corners or even the sky have weird blue outlines. The device also makes it impossible to run anything but native res on your monitor, or else it'll shutdown and force you to reboot your PC (monitor thinks the hardware isn't compatible). So if you want to play stretched res, you're out of luck.

It works!
Having a recent vintage Macbook Pro with Thunderbolt 3 ports and some older NEC monitors, I purchased a Caldigit TS3 Plus dock as the go between from monitor to laptop. The NEC 3090WQXi has a native 2560 x 1600 resolution. I had it hooked up via dual link DVI cable to my old classic Mac Pro (2009). It delivered superb, stable performance over the years, and I wanted to keep using it with my recent Macbook Pro purchase. I've gone through several cable adapters in vain. After reading various web posts, it was clear I needed an 'active' adapter. I purchased the Star Tech active dual link DVI to DisplayPort adapter (the Caldigit dock has a DisplayPort interface). Unfortunately, the Star Tech adapter, despite a tech spec that said it could deliver 2560 x 1600, could not deliver the full 2560 x 1600 (snow on the display at that resolution though I could get lower resolutions). Their tech support was superb; unfortunately the product itself did not deliver. When I saw this product, I was glad to read prior reviews stating that this worked where the Star Tech didn't. I took the chance and was very happy when it just worked -- the same great picture quality and 2560 x 1600 resolution. Happy customer.

DisplayPort to DVI Dual Link Adapter
This is one of the few DisplayPort to DVI Dual link adapter while most DP to DVI supports only single link. It works with old Apple 30" monitor. However, it is not very stable as it causes random PC crashes. I think it is due to the old Apple monitor doesn't support HDCP while this adapter supports HDCP. I wish there is a way to tell the adapter to turn off HDCP support. In my case, I ended up getting an old dual link DVI video card in order to use the Apple monitor reliablly. As such, I can only rate it with 3 stars. For others with HDCP monitors, this adapter might be perfect.

Out the box, THIS ONE WORKS, to drive the Apple 30" Cinema Display from PC.
Update: after using it for a week or so I now notice that it has some issues recovering after putting the Apple Cinema Display to sleep. The screen breaks up, or flashes, and won't recover until I unplug/re-plug. Sad because in all other respects it works well.Original report:This works out the box with my Apple 30" Cinema Display. The downside is that it needs a 5V supply which it gets via a separate lead from an adjacent USB port. The good news is that unlike some others, this one works! Before buying this unit, I bought a competitor unit from VisionTek which was a little less expensive. The "VisionTek Active DisplayPort to DL-DVI Adapter Cable for Mac and PC (900639)" did not require the extra USB connection which seemed an attractive feature. Yet I struggled with the VisionTek animal for two days, googling all the frustrated comments by others who have trodden this path; downloading unlikely drivers and stuff from the web. I could not get it to work at full resolution, or even predictably, though it did sputter along at lower resolution OK. Subsequent research showed that the signalling protocol demands some 5V signals, which I suspect this bear of lesser brain could not handle for lack of USB power. So if you want to cut to the chase and get something that really woiks - then avoid my misery, and cough up the extra for this Dell BIZLINK XT625 / CN-0XT625.

Empfehlenswert!

Dell XT625 BizLink Adaptateur Dual Link...
