Typical mute
It's your typical mute and works just like any other mute. It comes in a pack of 4 which is really convenient since these are pretty easy to lose. Overall these are worth your money since they come with a bunch of mutes

Work great, good deal, fall off easily though
These work great, you can adjust tone over a wide range with small nudges, slide it down toward the tail when not in use, and works way better than the big comb-shaped things that go over the whole bridge. Why do they come in a four-pack, you might ask? They're really easy to lose! I've already lost one! They fall off easily if you're having too much fun while playing music.

This is a Terrible Product
Installation: It’s not particularly clear from the photos but these mutes don’t have slots that lead to the holes where they sit on the strings. This means that in order to put them on you have to take off your strings, and slide them through the holes of the mute from the tip of the string, then restring the instrument. This means that the mute is stuck on the violin permanently unless you completely remove the A and D strings to remove the mute. This can be an issue because these mutes tend to bounce around and buzz while playing. The inability to easily remove the mute makes that a much larger problem.Usability: These mutes are very bulky and have a remarkably narrow slot for the bridge. This means that you really have to press them down into the bridge to get them to attach properly, which is not good for the bridge. Then, because they are so thick, they seem to dampen the sound of the violin significantly more than typical performance mutes.Do not buy these, they are a waste of money and could cause you to damage your instrument.

My violin bridge flew off!
I've been playing violin for many years, and this was the first time I had a mute that was too thick and difficult to put on the bridge. During rehearsal, as I slid the mute on, I had to press down hard for it to engage because the lip is so small, as a result, my bridge flew off the violin! It was a disaster and I had to pick up the bridge from the floor, reinstall it on the violin and retune. I returned these. Too thick!

Quality very variable
I ordered these mutes, and my friend Louise did also. She got well finished soft rubber mutes. I got hard plastic mutes, with no slots cut in the sides where the mute slides on to the strings. I cut some out, and then realised the hard plastic could not fit over the bridge . I had to trim the little tab as well. Two of my mutes are visible on the left.Louise’s mute is on the right. She got much softer mutes with the string slots pre cut. The rubber is much softer, and the tab was much easier to fit over the bridge. No cutting required.
