3M 3584 Professional Grade Rubberized Undercoating 12 16oz Cans

I worked at a body shop in high school (long time ago) and we always used 3M products, especially for undercoating and rocker texture. We used a special applicator that pulled from a can and it really laid the product on thick.After using Rustoleum undercoating and having it chip away, I knew there had to be better products so I decided to try some 3M from a spray can. I undercoated my truck frame and rear wheel wells and the product goes on nice. It's been about 6 months and there are no signs of chipping, peeling, or really any wear at all.The only caveat to using these cans is the amount of product you get. It doesn't last as long as you think it will, so definitely buy more than you anticipate using. As an example of coverage, I built a panel to go on the inside of my tailgate so I would have a flat surface on my 2012 Ford F-150 rather than having the fold down bar and uneven plastic cover. The panel size is about 20" x 50" and I got one coat on this panel from one can of this spray.

i thought this stuff was supposed to be the best but its got issues. we took the bed off our F350 scraped and primed everything and applied this product, two coats. each can goes really fast so you will need a whole case for a truck/car. after it was left out in the rain for a few days rust trails started to come through the product and leave drip like marks down the frame intermittently. This product does not seal up well. It maybe be good on a brand new panel/vehicle, but not on an older one that has seem some rust. I am giving it 2 stars because i am sure it will work for new panels/frames but does not work for old ones as it says it will do on the can.
