Women's Steampunk Gothic Wrap Skirt Victorian Ruffles Pirate Skirt

Gorgeous! Love that it dbls as a cape. I should have ordered my exact size, medium, instead of a size larger. Was SHOWERED with compliments at SLC FAN-X.

Purchased a medium to fit over hoop skirt. It is metallic red taffeta with a ruffle all around and long red tulle on each side. The middle top is bunched together and sewn to make a kind of bustle. Two long ribbon ties of the same material holds it on. There are a few stray threads and one tie the stitch doesn't go all the way to the end. Easy fixes. I'm pretty short and don't wear heels so this drags a little even with the hoop skirt. Tried to get as many pictures as I could by myself with a mirror. Overall it's ridiculously beautiful, super fancy and well made. I might try it in a steampunk theme next. Love owning this garment. Worth every penny.

I am 5'6 and 190 lb........other reviewers are right, for me it fits my waist like a cape where there is maybe 9 inches where there is none of the tule in the front. So plan for that. I would advise purchasing something to go under it. For my height it doesn't drag or touch the ground at all and I consider myself average height. I will add I am short waisted (short torso) with long legs. My legs are as long as men 6 feet tall that are long waisted with shorter legs. So the length is going to vary on everyone. My only complaint if it even is one is the fabric is shiny and comes off as cheap it makes it costume like because of the fabric. I would have loved it to be cotton or satin. I would have been willing to pay more for a quality fabric.

This skirt did the job for my last minute steampunk costume. It was very cute and I got lots of compliments - but it's definitely a bit "costume-y" with the shiny fabric. It doesn't look cheap by any means - just not your true renaissance garb level quality for the garb snobs, if you will. I loved it and I will definitely continue wearing it until I'm ready to splurge on a full skirt. For reference I am 5'6" about 200 pounds, tend to wear size 14 in US women's sizes, and I got the 2 XL. The chiffon fabrics allllllmost met in the middle when I tied it around my waist - the "gap" was negligible, but if you're looking for something that will close completely and you're around my size just be aware.

Beautifully made! Was very excited to receive this as an addition to my outfit for being an MC at a major conference!I was disappointed because my friend who is a 2X was able to wrap it around her and try it on “just fine “!I bring a size 2 and tiny took the same bustle and was heartbroken because we had to literally try to find a way to wrap it around me without the tons of sting / ties left over from fitting around my waist!To make it worse because I am so small it looks a bit funny - almost like if it was cut on 1/2 it would look a whole lot better on me!

The quality is better than I expected. I have a 33 inch waist and the XL is the perfect size to close the front opening all the way. You want a smaller size if you plan to have it open in the front. Either way, you have to wear something underneath even if it's a short black slip. It looks good as a cape too.

For a cape, the garment would be great, but I purchased it to wear as a skirt. In the picture I thought I saw it wrapping around for complete coverage. I am thin, size 6, but the garment was completely open in the front so that I would have to wear another skirt/leggings/shorts/whatever. Despite that, it is beautifully made and disappointed I could not use it as a skirt.

I adore this skirt/cape! Although because my hips are wide I need to wear another layer (skirt or pants) under it, I think it would easily fit someone thinner than I am without needing to wear another layer. It is a wrap, though, so you might want to wear something under it no matter what, since it could blow or fall open, I suppose. It makes a great looking cape, too. The material is nice for this costume type of attire. I am well pleased, and will be wearing it to my local Shakespeare Winter Market and next spring’s Renaissance Faires!

Bought this for a costume. The quality is much better than I expected for the price I paid. Since it can’t be used as a wrap skirt or as a cape it will make a great addition to my costume wardrobe for a long time to come.
