Killer debut studio disc by this way-kool blues-based guitar rock band from the backwoods of Kentucky & Tennessee featuring Jarrod England (Rufus Huff) on lead vocals & guitar and Bob Watkins (Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies) on guitar. Includes 10 tracks of excellent, dynamic, blues-based, vintage, retro-70s, hard rock mojo that will rock your good jam: house into the next county. The mighty Black Mountain Prophet have landed at Grooveyard Records on the 'Notorious Sinner' disc & it's high time to worship at their soul-powered House Of Rock. Black Mountain Prophet are Retro Sonic Preachers of the good old fashioned Rock N' Roll Gospel who have just added the 11th Commandment to the 'Good Book': Thou Shalt Rock. With a musical nod towards Southern Rock territory and growing up on vast amounts of killer 70s rock, these boys know what time of day it is when it comes down to REAL rock n' roll mojo. Featuring the amazing, powerful, vocal talents of Jarrod England, the man is an authentic disciple of Steve Marriott and Robert Plant, singing his ass off, preaching the bad-ass rock vocal god gospel. Brother England also digs in & plays a mean 70s-inspired guitar reminiscent of Paul Kossoff jammin' at the big, electric FREE meets HUMBLE PIE six string boogie train. England is definitely a solid man of rock on a Mission to Keep the Rock alive. Mr. Bob Watkins also handles + shares the dual heavy guitar duties @ Black Mountain Prophet. A legendary 'old-school' guitar cat axeslinger who brings & delivers vintage six string guitar mojo that definitely defines and represents the B.M.P. sound. Produced and recorded by Brodie Hutcheson (Gov't Mule) at the legendary Thundershack Studios in Nashville, the Black Mountain Prophet - 'Notorious Sinner' disc is a righteous slice of retro-sonic guitar rock riffage that is Highly recommended to fans of Humble Pie, Free, Cactus, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Warren Haynes, Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies, Rufus Huff and to people who dig serious rock mojo.

Awesome!!
WOW! this is one of the best albums I've heard in a VERY long time. This is hard rock at its very best. Soulful, heartfelt and pure. This album sums up what is missing in todays music. This CD is good from start to finish. The last time I can remember liking a CD as much as this (besides a number of albums in the 70's) is probably 4 non blondes (bigger, better, faster, more)

Notorious Sinner
Notorious Sinner If you like Lynyrd Skynyrd, you're going to love this album! No auto tone used on this....'real' instruments are played by 'real' people during the recording session. That's rare! Jarrod England is incredible.

WOW! What a gem!
I'd change the CD artwork but the music is phenomenal. Bluesy Hard Rock with fabulous vocals and killer riffs. Sounds like a classic album from the 70's.

Black Mountain Prophet - Notorious Sinner
If you're a fan of true blues-driven no nonsense rock and roll, you're going to love this album. The instrumentation, songwriting, and production are tremendous, and Jarrod England's voice is absolutely superb. While the sound clearly recalls a time in decades past when rock and roll was king, it honestly sounds surprisingly fresh and original in the present day. We need more Black Mountain Prophets in music today.

Great debut album
Here, you have the singer from Rufus Huff and the one of the guitarist from the Screaming Cheetah Wheelies. Thats a killer combination for sure. With that said, this is a great CD. Bob Watkins sounds great on here, and totally in his element with this music. This is what Bob loves, and you can hear it. And wow, Jarrod England is just an amazing singer, hands down. Probably the best singer out right now. If you love Sabbath, Cheetah Wheelies, Led Zep, and all that, then this is for you....BUY IT!!!!!!!

Great fun!
Great album! It's a mixture of ZZ Top, Black Crowes, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bad Company, Not original, but still, it's done with love and finess, and I can't wait for their next album! Great fun!
