Pelican Catch 120 = Great fishing kayak
I bought the Pelican Catch 120 a few months ago on Amazon through Appomattox River Company. I was very concerned buying my kayak online through a 3rd party but I had an Amazon gift card so thought I would take a chance. After I purchased the kayak I was contacted pretty much immediately to set up a shipping date. To my amazement I had my kayak within 3 days from the purchase date. The kayak was wrapped up incredibly well. The driver waited until I opened and inspected it before letting me sign off. Everything was in prefect condition. No scratches or dents!I have used the Catch 120 about 10 times so far and will say that I love this kayak. It is a very good kayak for a fisherman. The kayak did not come with any track system or with any other upgrades but you have the option to really enhance this kayak to fit your needs. The kayak is very stable. It took me a while to get comfortable standing. It took me a few tries to stand comfortably but now I am able to stand with ease and sight fish. I like the fact that I have enough room to stand and move around a bit to fish multiple spots. I even use the kayak as a paddle board and paddle while standing up without any issues. Being 6'2 240lbs I'm able to move around pretty freely in this kayak. I do prefer to have the seat in the top position and have no issues keeping it there while paddling. The seat on this kayak is absolutely amazing! I can spend hours on the water sitting comfortable in this seat. The seat has 2 positions, a high and low position. If you want to have more leverage and a little more speed while paddling I would recommend the low position. If you're tall and want to stretch out a bit then the 2nd position is great! Plus you can store more gear under your seat. Now, in terms of performance, the Catch 120 is not great. If you want a fast kayak that tracks and handles well then this is probably not for you. This is a very slow kayak compared to other narrow/pointed kayaks.I'm always in the back of the pack when I go out with others. You definitely will need an anchor to fish so you don't drift away on a windy day. The tracking is not great on this kayak but it's not terrible either. The bottom line is if you want a good fishing kayak where you can stand comfortably and fish then this kayak is great! If you want something that you want to feel safe in and be comfortable sitting then this kayak is great! If you want a good beginner kayak to start fishing in then this kayak is great!

I am very happy with the Kayak. My son is enjoying it tremendously. We are anticipating another purchase.

If you are a pack rat, this is the kayak for you! Lots of room for everything!
In my opinion, best kayak on the market. You can easily stand up on this kayak. Plenty of room for coolers, dry bags, camp equipment. There is enough room in front of the seat to put another chair for another person. I recently bought a foldable portable beach chair to try out for a second person this summer. I actually bought this kayak for an overnight kayak trip. (I had the 10 ft sit on top Sundolphin, but it just didnt have enough room for all of my gear.) One of the things I liked about this kayak was that in front of the seat, there is enough space for the Roadie Hard Yeti Cooler, which I was able to either lay my legs across & tan while we floated down the river, or I could have my feet on the floor of the kayak--plenty of room...and I am not a small gal. I love that the seat is adjustable for both height & back rest & it is easily removable from the kayak (just undo the strap), so I was able to sit on it around the campfire--I didn't have to pack a separate chair. I love the locking mechanism on the dry hatch storage. When it locks, it feels very secure. I was able to fit all of my sleeping gear & dry kitchenware in the dry storage compartment with plenty of room left over!! My tent easily fit with my dry bag in the secure tie downs on the back. I like the paddle tie down, so it keeps your paddle secure & out of the way. I was able to pack my roadie yeti cooler, a soft AO cooler, with enough room for a 3rd cooler (which I will probably take next trip). If you are debating on getting this kayak, do it. Its pricey, but it is worth every penny and then some!!
