No, it doesn’t light up when the alarm goes on. It’s only on when you press the light button.

Q: How do you turn this on?

Just set the time to your zone per instructions- otherwise it’s already on- follow the instructions if not ( in instruction booklet)

Yes. It did come with instructions. I bought this as a gift for my grandson.
