I’ve had chronic back pain for 5 years. No doctor could figure out what was wrong with me. I was looking for cute walking shoes for an upcoming trip because the back pain flares up when I’m waking for 20 min. I came across the Vionic brand and that’s how I found out about orthopedic shoes.I tried these for a day at work and not only did my back pain not flare up, my back pain decreased substantially! I was floored - could it be true my back pain was tied to my feet? It certainly made sense because 5 years ago, I started working at big tech companies where everyone was casual so I always wore cheap flats.When I think of orthopedic shoes, I don’t think of cute but these shoes are so cute and my friends said they didn’t even know they were orthopedic shoes til I told them. I’m almost 100% free from back pain and I’m so in love with Vionic and a few other orthopedic brands, I literally bought nearly 10 pairs in a matter of months and they aren’t cheap but when it comes to health and freedom from pain, it’s worth it.The straps are a bit flimsy as some reviewers mentions but just be gentle when you put them on/off, but otherwise, they are sturdy and can handle a full day of walking, no problem. I found they are true to size.

It's amazing how difficult it is to find a thonged leather sandal with a simple strap in back (well, one that isn't slathered with bling that belongs in a Florida retirement community, anyway). I don't like plain old flipflops because they won't stay on when running/jumping/etc; I need a strap to hold them in place. And I want them to be sturdy because I'll be clambering down steep paths to get to the beach or whatnot.These do exactly that, with just enough padding in the sole to be comfortable. They don't provide a great deal of support, but I don't expect them to, either. I do wish they came in more colors (I'd probably buy one of each), and I'd rather be able to tighten them a bit more; I have a tendency to slide around a bit in the sandal, which makes it a little bit wobbly on inclines.All in all, though, these are exactly what I wanted, and show off my pedicure beautifully in the summer.

I bought these specifically because I wanted to look nice while walking around places in Europe but my foot can start hurting easily without the right support. These are great shoes that are cute but make it so realistic to walk around all day.Only con is that the strap that goes around the back is pretty short. It fits me fine but I bought my mom a pair too and she could not clip the shoes together at the back because she had a wider ankle. Please make the back either more stretchy or have a longer strap!

The proportions of this shoe did not work for my feet. The placement of the ankle strap and slightly slope between the heel and toe pushed my foot forward. The space between the toe piece and the front edge was too short but I had excess space behind my heel. I usually wear a 7.5 in sandals but the size 8 in this shoe didn't fit. I have other similar styles by Tory Burch, Paige, and Olukai and they fit me well. It was comfortable otherwise and j can see why people like it. I have a low arch and found the arch of this shoe to be uncomfortable (felt like a ball pressing into my foot). I also would have preferred a lighter more neutral tan (less brown).

I tried my first pair and I've worn them for many months - and I love them so much I'm buying more!For me, style was more important than the arch support and these are by far the cutest pair of "orthotic support" sandals I've found. I bought these sandals because I got Plantar Fasciitis and I'll tell you... they really are SO much comfortable and supportive than other sandals. They run big and even at .5 size down from my normal size they seem a little "loose" but I'm used to that now. I'm going to buy one in every color they come in. I hope Vionic does not ever discontinue this style and continues to expand the color range.I HIGHLY recommend these sandals!

I have been wearing the black Vionic flip flops for a couple of years and also, the tennis shoes. They gave me instant relief from my Planters fasciitis, but weren't much on looks. I really wanted to try a pretty sandal for this summer. After reading the other reviews, I decided to order a half size smaller than what I normally wear. I ordered a 6 1/2 and it fits perfectly. I do have short toes, so if yours are long, you may do better sticking with your normal size to avoid them going over the edge. I have worn these sandals, almost everyday, for a couple of weeks and they have held up very well. I have have had no pain even after several hours of standing. They are nice looking and I will be ordering them in another color soon.Update 2022: 3 1/2 years later and I am still wearing these almost everyday. I did have to have the elastic on the straps replaced a couple of months ago. $15 at the shoe repair and we are good to go!

This sandal is adorable and I had high hopes, which unfortunately were dashed. The sandal had the arch support I was looking for, but my foot couldn't stay on the footbed in the front of the sandal and I felt that I was about to slip off the footbed with each step. It could just be my feet, but they weren't for me.

These shoes are amazing. They’re comfortable and stylish. I have them in gold, and I get so many compliments on them. I have plantar fasciitis, and I don’t have foot pain when I wear these shoes.I bought 3 different types of Vionic shoes at the same time when my foot pain got to where I couldn’t stand it anymore. These are my favorite pair. Wearing Vionics every day has made a huge difference. I don’t hurt as I’m wearing them, and my foot pain when I wake up in the morning has decreased by at least 85%. When I wear non-Vionic shoes, I can tell an immediate difference in my pain levels while wearing the other shoes and after I’ve taken them off.They do run a little large. I was worried that they didn’t have half sizes in these, but I sized down from a 7 1/2W to a 7W and they fit perfectly.
