Super Cute!
I'm a preschool teacher, and I absolutely love this book. It's a large book with large pictures, which is great for storytime. I love books with few words. I think people get too wrapped up in long stories with lots of words, but this gets a very special and heartfelt message of kindness across with lots of room for imagination.

Problem solving for young children
This book is one of the best illustrations for young children to grasp the concept of problem solving. This wordless picture book has been perfect for my preschool class to understand how the consequences of our behaviors can make a big difference in the outcome of a situation. I really like how the illustrator was able to capture the different emotions in the characters on the pages, which has lead my students to have open conversations and dialogues about the plot of the story. This has also lead to them wanting to build their own garden area on the patio outside our classroom window. The size of the book is perfect for a teacher to use for large group readings so everyone can see the what is happening very well. I have read this book to my students for several years and have used it as an introduction to planting our school gardens. This is a must for every preschool classroom.

Perfect for all ages
This book is amazing! From the illustrations to the text it is a must have for all early childhood and elementary classrooms or child's library. The message is simple and clear and the illustrations are so clear and vibrant that all children can understand the simple meaning. I have used it with ages three and up and with students with mild to severe and profound disabilities and impairments, my DHH (deaf and hard of hearing) friends, and littles with limited English or even limited receptive language. It is a splendid book. A MUST have! Great message and great book! All of my littles love to pour over the detailed illustrations and talk about the book as they act it out and revisit it. Even my husband loved the simple message and vibrant illustrations as we read it at bedtime. We especially loved the page with all of the birds looking straight at the reader with their heads tilted. Do not hesitate! Buy it!

Gorgeous book and lovely message
This is an absolutely gorgeous book. I love Kadir Nelson’s work. The pictures are stunning. The rabbit and mouse grow a garden, but don’t want to share when the birds ask for food. They yell at each other and then fight, and ruin much of the food. Both the rabbit and the mouse learn that fighting isn’t the answer. You must be kind to one another and share with others. Then mouse shares his food with one of the birds, and they see this too, that they can’t bully others into giving. So, in that spirit, they start the garden over. The birds drop the seeds, and all together, they care for the garden and wait for it to grow. The animals rejoice at the fully grown garden, and remembering their lesson, they share with all the animals, even those who didn’t help. This is a beautiful book with a beautiful and important message.

The sweetest story
What a sweet story. It is so lovely in its simplicity. The artwork will appeal to adults and children, but the message is what makes this book a winner. It is short and to the point. I will give it to my four year old grand children. They will have no difficulty understanding its message. Though the book is only a few pages with few words, it packs a punch. I loved it and can't wait to give it to my grand children.

This is an awesome book!
The pictures are so impressed and the story tells you a great lesson. Children can learn how important to be nice to others instead of being selfish. My fav page is the five bird stare the rabbit and mouse.

The pictures are absolutely beautiful. The use of primary colours with the wonderful illustrations are a draw to young children. Minimal writing on each page so you can read it fully before the child turns the page but the story's message is mostly presented through the pictures letting the child and parent tell the story in their own words.

Should become a classic
This is a beautiful book where the marvellous illustrations alone could tell the wonderful story of the values of sharing and cooperation. My six year old grandkids loved it as much as I do.
