Worth the money
Was gonna put a pistol grip handle on it but I may just sand off the laquer and keep the handle it comes with. Overall it's a good little saw.

Very good saw for the price
For only $15 you can't beat it. Right out of the box it cuts decently. If you sharpen it and set the teeth it's a great clean cut. Paul Sellers and Rob Cosman have great YouTube videos on how to accomplish those tasks. The straight handle is actually very comfortable, but if you have some spare 4/4 stock it's easy to make your own pistol grip handle like I did. The spine keeps the blade very straight as long as you are sawing properly. Highly recommend this saw. For the price, you get a decent saw. With only maybe 30min of work you can make it a great saw

Great value and surprising performance
I ordered 3 gents saws with the intent of replacing the handles with pistol style. This one was to be for practice with the change and was the least expensive. It turned out to be the best performer! Cuts fast, narrow curf and a great price. The other two seemed like cheapo clunkers in comparison. Not sure if I happened to get a special one but I'm not complaining. I refuse to spend $100's on what is basically a small piece of saw plate with some wood stuck on. My intent is to resharpen the other saws after replacing the handles. This little gem is ready to go right out of the packaging.

Better after sharpening
Don't let sharpening put you off. Buy an extra double slim file with the saw. This is the first saw I've tried to sharpen and it was easy. Youtube will show you how (Paul Sellers, especially).Sharpening made a big difference. When I unpacked the saw I ripped a 1" piece of yellow pine and it took 36 strokes till I hit the back of the saw. After 5 minutes of sharpening, I made the same cut in 14 strokes.I wasn't sure about a gents style saw but the handle is comfortable and it's not at all awkward to use. Can't see what difference a brass back would make over the steel one. I'm happy with it.Some reviews said theirs arrived bent. It just comes in a plastic bag but I ordered a few other things with it and they came together in a box and arrived with no damage.

Perfect
Sharpen it as soon as you get it, and its a winner. No regrets at the price point. Cuts really nice dovetails and is generally handy to have at the bench.

Good at first, but wears down quickly
Worked well for a while and was quite sharp, but eventually the head started to separate from the handle so that I can no longer use it now that it's rattling around.

Perfect for DIY dovetails
Very well built, sharp, and easy to use. My first dovetail saw and I'm very happy. Made several easy cuts on Hickory wood to make dovetail joints with.
