All Natural Chick Starter Freshly Milled: Old Fashioned Mash - Non-GMO, Non-Medicated, Soy Free, Corn Free, with Organic Fertrell Vitamins and Minerals (20lb)

First off....The packaging has tiny little slits in the bag so dust from the food was leaking out.Most of this food is mash and my chicks and hens wouldn't touch it. They mostly picked out the oats. Lots went to waste.My hens then continued to have the worst month ever for egg laying... lots of abnormal eggs. Lots of blood spots. Lots of struggled laying... and yes I provide calcium all the time on the side for them and they definitely eat their calcium.

My chicks really loved this feed. We have moved to a new food since they are older. I did have a problem with shipping but that was quickly handled by the seller. Will continue to use for my chicks when age appropriate.

I have experience with locally milled feed and this food smelled stale, but I gave it to my chicks anyways and ended up spending hours cleaning pasty butt off my chicks. Seven chicks out of thirty seven got it one morning. Now that I switched to Scratch and Peck Starter feed the pasty butt has vanished. Do your chicks a favor and go with another brand. Low quality, hard on the wallet and on the baby chicks.

I have hatched chicks for more than 20 years, some of them are very delicate show bantams. This starter is the best I've ever used, I didn't lose a single chick. They are eager to eat, and it seems to be very easy on their digestive system because they didn't have problems with pasty butt. I will definitely use this next year, it saved me a lot of headaches.

My chicks loved this feed and I love the ingredient list. It was also less expensive than getting organic chick feed at the local farm store.
