Living in houses with hardwood floors is cool, but sometimes you gotta add a rug. And sometimes when you buy a cute rug from your favorite Swedish wares store, said rug has a plastic-y backing. Hardwood floors + plastic-y backing = a potential recipe for disaster, but mostly just a daily annoyance.Before I scooped this trusty lil guy up I tried those sticky friends that you attach to the corners of the rug, which are fine if your rug has a backing that gets along with adhesive and isn’t in a high traffic area. But, neither of those things apply in my case so on a quest for an alternative solution I went.The cuts on this weren’t straight but that’s not something I’m gonna cry about - just a quick little trim with one of my too many pairs of scissors (or you could use something else, like a sword, if you’re feeling creative), problem solved. I paid $16 to prevent my rug and coffee table from sliding across the living room floor on a daily basis, which is exactly what it does.There are no dogs in this house so I cannot comment on whether or not this passes the dog test, but I do have a 6’1” human and a 9 pound cat who revs up on the rug to get some good zoom speed. Safe to say the rug is exactly where I put it and it’s been 2.5 months. Zero traces of white residue underneath it thus far as well, which is something I was a tiny bit worried about since I rent and gently scrubbing rubber backing off the floor so I get my security deposit back when I move out is something that’s pretty close to the top of my DONT WANNA DO list.I will note that when you’re trying to lay this thing down straight without any weight on it, it does float around a bit so I struggled trying to get everything lined up properly but that might just be a me problem because I am a) a small person with not very long arms and b) refuse to ask for assistance to make a task easier.TLDR; this is one of the cheapest non slip rug pads you can find and it absolutely does it’s job. It will save you from the daily headache of your rug floating through your home and will also help ensure that you don’t accidentally injure yourself from doing a little afternoon rug surfing.

Great buy! We have an indoor/outdoor rug in our beach cottage and it was truly dangerous before buying this pad. This thing does not move. We tried. It doesn't budge. I've bought cheaper pads before, they're just not worth it. I would definitely buy this pad again - in fact, I have! If it matters, our wood floors were just redone so they were super slippery with the new finish. But this pad holds that rug down. Buy it.

I was disappointed when I opened the package and saw the mat. In the picture it looked as if it was padded which is what I really wanted. After going back and looking at the pic it was the rug they used that made it appear padded. Other than that it has done a great job keeping my runner in place. I would buy again if I was looking for something non padded.

For years I have been putting tape on my hardwood floors to prevent the rugs from sliding, only to have the tape ruin the floors. Now I’m using the pads underneath and there’s no comparison. My rugs don’t move now and I can lift them up and move them wherever they’re needed. Finally!

Needed a rug pad. It arrived the next day. Such a simple thing, but in my busy world, I really appreciate it.

I needed something to keep an incontinence pad from sliding in the bathroom. This works really well. I tried to get the pad to move and couldn’t budge it. There’s a little cushion feel when standing on it. Definitely helps to avoid slips or falls by a senior in our house

I'm not even sure why I'm giving this three stars. It only works ok. Maybe if you don't have dogs or kids, or move around all that much on it, it would fit the bill, but, in the end, I left it just for extra padding under our rug and cut a few pieces of industrial velcro to put at the corners and now, the rug stays where it should.

We chose this pad because we liked the look of it online & because of the brand name. (We like their tapes.). It arrived on time & we are pleased with the way it keeps our carpet from bunching up under foot. We would definitely recommend it.

I would defiantly buy from D’Marks again and they are true to their word. Their Gorilla grip non -slip area rug pad is exactly what is described and it works !
