Where was the calculator built? 12C's built in the US seem to have much better build quality and reliability than the ones built in China.

The 12C that I have has the letters "CHN 700****" on a tab located on the back of the calculator. I assume that means China. Regardless, I bought this calculator in 2005 and have literally used it multiple times everyday...probably 10,000 times. It continues to work perfectly.

Why is the packaging in spanish? my order arrived today and i want an english version.

Does this one have a Black keyboard background or a silver one on what is delivered by Amazon?

The HP 12CP is the Platnium edition - (that's what the P stands for). The shipped product looks exactly as it is displayed on the product page. Except for the buttons and the silver panel on the top 3rd of the calculator (around the display) the background is black. I have mine in my hand right now and it looks identical to the picture you see on the product page.
