920D Custom T7W-C 7-Way Control Plate Your new 920D Custom 7-Way Control Plate will rock your world. This control plate works like a standard 5-way switch. However, the push/pull turns on the neck allowing the neck and bridge pickups to be used together as well as all three pickups at the same time depending on where you set the switch. This pre-wired, drop-in piece is built to completely clean up your tone and let the full quality of your pickups shine through. Gavitt Wire, a leading producer of premium guitar wire, has agreed to custom manufacture our signature cloth covered pushback wire, and we believe it is the perfect choice for hotrodding your guitar. The wire is built with an outer waxed cotton layer and an inner Celanese braid that provides impressive ruggedness while still maintaining a 22 gauge thickness. Limiting the amount of wire on each build compliments your choice of pickups by creating the perfect balance between capacitance and resistance. 920D Custom potentiometers are used in this build. Our pots are manufactured by CTS to our exact specifications and are metered for accuracy before being used in any 920D Custom gear. We specify a 10% audio taper, accompanied with a low rotational torque rating of 0.50-2.00 in.oz (compared to the industry standard 0.75-6.00 in.oz rating) to provide a buttery knob sweep. We hold potentiometer tolerances to ±10%. The industry standard is ±20%. Tightening potentiometer tolerances will help you accurately shape your tone.

Really good, though two fristrations
First, know that I have no major complaint. The item is built really solidly. Think of it as a heavyweight tank part, not a flimsy bumper. In terms of clear tone for the Norcaster pickups I installed, it was cleaner than my Stratocaster, which is saying quite a bit. I found the tone knob to be acceptable, though perhaps a little narrow for trebles. The pickup selection options afforded with the 7-way switch take getting used to, but since this is for studio work, not a big both (with the tone knob not pulled out, it works like a standard Nashville Telecaster). My main complaint was that the jack was miswired from the factory. When first installed, it produced a ton of static. After I emailed the company (and their support team was fast and accurate), we swapped the wires on the jack and it worked A-OK (note to 920D, color code the wiring batter on the jack so your assemblers won't make this mistake ... that you correctly deduced the problem first time indicates this happens too often). The only other complaint was the web site photos for "hot to wire in your pickups" was a little low resolution. They need to post one high-rez snap to make everyone comfortable with what goes where.

Great Nashville Tele upgrade
This replacement control plate for Nashville-style Telecasters (those with three pickups instead of the standard two) is totally worth it. I now have seven distinct tones to work with, and with all three pickups selected, I can get some cool Pink Floydian sounds. With top-of-the-line pots, pickup selector switch, Orange Drop capacitor, wiring, and multi-contact output jack, this replacement for the stock Fender control plate electronics will improve your overall tone as well. If you have a Nashville Telecaster, run--don't walk--to get this upgrade. You won't regret it!

Once wired correctly this is a great control plate with minimal ground noise
Control plate did not work when I made the connections according to the wiring instructions provided.I returned the plate thinking it was faulty and my wife ordered another one. Same problem. We figured that the plate works but wiring instructions provided are incorrect.Disregard the instructions and use an ohmmeter to determine what does what on the 5-way switch.Once wired correctly this is a great control plate with minimal ground noise.Seller did not refund the return shipping even though they provide wrong instructions.Screw positions were fine, contrary to some other reviews.

Excellent product and great customer service
I'm giving this product and seller 5 stars for a number of reasons. First , the seller responded promptly when I inquired as to the expected delivery date. Second , the seller included a diagram showing how to connect this product to my pickups which was very helpful. Third, this product works exactly as advertised. The push/pull tone knob activates/deactivates the neck pickup giving two more pickup combinations. The sound you get when all three pickups are active is full and rich. There was no problem installing this product on my American standard telecaster body - the fit was perfect.

A must for a Nashville Tele
Now I got the Tele and a Strat tones in one guitar! I am now able to dial the classic neck and bridge Tele p-up combination which is missing in the Nashville Deluxe swicth plus the 5-way classic strat tone switching. Loaded mine with Dimarzio pickups and it’s sounding delicious!-)Customer service was excellent when I contacted them for help about the missing wire in the circuit. They replaced the item asap without any question asked!

Sounds great, very well constructed
Sounds great, very well constructed, no issues at all. Any problems you can see written by reviewers about wiring are easily solved by just googling the correct wiring schematic. Its very easy to find.
